Also had a slight obsession last night trying to find the best version of "Guantanamera", a beautiful song in need of reclaiming from the barstewardised monster beloved of footie crowds. The Sandpipers' version is melodic but a bit schmaltzy,
I suppose it's hosses for courses, I sought out the Sandpiper version of Juan Ton A Mara, just last week.

Never thought you would be a Macc Lads fan . Was it Beer and Sex an Chips an Gravy? Sweaty Betty always gets me, but to be fair Blackpool is probably a favourite of mine. I was introduced to the Mac Lads whilst I was in the TA, during a training weekend in Wigan. I was young, and impressionable.

Good that you committed. I'm still dithering over which one to get. Some nice melodic singing in that Sandpipers' version but the voiceover brings it down for me.

Some podcasts: above & beyond, anjunadeep, Gareth Emery and Dyro. The above & beyond podcast is frustrating knowing he's followed the EDM hype the last 12 months... some of the mixes on mixcloud were interesting before Miami 2013 when they went from trance to EDM! Its soon popped the podcasts to the top of iTunes though which is surprising!

They have always been pretty eclectic, but have been moving away from pure trance for quite some time. That's probably one reason why they changed the name of the podcast from Trance Around The World to Group Therapy about two years ago. Their own music is still rooted in melodic vocal trance I'd say, but they have a pretty eclectic bunch on their labels - Arty and Matt Zo mix up styles and cross genres a lot, Andrew Beyer too. They have some great artists on the Anjunadeep label too - 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff, James Grant etc. And they spent a lot of last year doing their acoustic project (check out the acoustic concert on youtube if you haven't seen it, it's great). I used to be a regular listener to the Tiesto podcast but have given up on it recently as it was getting a bit samey (not to mention that the self-love got a bit much). Have never yet felt that way about A&B though, as there is always variation within and between shows.

Loving the Royal Blood album and also the Eagulls, which is a lively fuzzy mess and damn good for it.
also got Lost in The Dream by The War on Drugs - outstanding. Best album I've bought this year

In my opinion my favourite podcast is Kissy Sell Outs' Badlands Podcast which doesn't just feature some of his mixes but also a whole hour for new and exciting DJs/Producers! I do agree the concert is something else and certinitely did blow my mind!

I also like the Defected podcast too.
