This place and Facebook is full of people fretting and worrying about tickets, critiscising casual fans and so called glory hunters. Quite frankly I couldn't care less. Everyone who goes regularly will get a ticket, the rest will be taken by interested others, some of whom we hope will get the bug and come back.

Yep, people have been bemoaning the falling attendance figures for a while now. This type of game should give us some old regulars and not so regulars back through the gates, and hopefully a few of the 17 odd thousand who went down to Wembley etc.
Well MM has probably managed to tick off one of his performance management targets by getting the squad this far too!

was thinking the same thing Jamo. For goodness sake, be glad we've had 3 great wins, for a great draw and will make some money through the TV. the rush for tickets brings out the worst in people. it's not the end of the world if you can't get a ticket, at least you'll see it on the TV.

Email from club came through today stating that the only way to guarantee a ticket was to purchase a season ticket!

Nature of the beast. Simply unavoidable. Hopefully we'll have the same scramble towards the end of the season when the truly important games come around.

As long as they don't allow season ticket holders to purchase eight tickets each like they have been able to do in previous years.

I was hoping for a Southend away ticket. No point in applying, I expect they've all gone.

Email from club came through today stating that the only way to guarantee a ticket was to purchase a season ticket! Yes I have had one of these too and I already have one!! So far Matt Williams has done well. His interview says they want to reward all loyal fans and hopefully they will. After all, both he and the new ticket manager must have dealt with times like this before at Blackpool.

As long as they don't allow season ticket holders to purchase eight tickets each like they have been able to do in previous years. I don't think that will happen. Several matches already this season have been one per season ticket holder. I am a season ticket holder but I would be really miffed if I was allowed to buy more than one - that really would be the limit. Having said that I do buy tickets for other season ticket holders because I am the one with the computer!!!!

I have no problem with people purchasing tickets for other season ticket holders if they are quoting their mates' customer numbers, but it annoys me when season ticket holders are allowed to purchase tickets for their families/mates who would never ordinarily watch Town play. The last time we played Chelsea, there were many Telford fans who got tickets for the match because of friends purchasing on their behalf. By Telford fans, I mean some of them who are extremely vitriolic towards our club.

Only 17 thousand? try 24,000 (2007), 21,000(2009) and 16,000(1996).

I disagree with wanting Bournemouth but agree with the sentiment! I completely accept it if i can't get a ticket this time as I live a fair way away, travel a lot with work and have a young family. I simply can't prioritise football as I used to hence haven't got to many games recently. But ive followed town to places like Torquay, Halifax, Cambridge, Histon etc going to as many games as I could afford in the past and have been a town fan since 83-84. So I've no problem if someone who's been more committed in the recent past is ahead in the queue but please don't call me a fairweather fan. It just makes me feel less part of the club and pushes people in similar circumstances further away. And by the way, I was a fairweather fan back in my first season when a certain Kevin Keegan turned up in town, it's how many fans start. So let's dispense with the cliques and judgements and remember that the one thing that we all have in common is a passion for the Town. No one is a better supporter than another. COYB!

Probably no problem with that so long as it's one per Sovereign member. One time we can be glad we have a small Board of Directors too - not so many to give out freebies!

Here here. Seriously getting on my tats, with FB wall to wall with it. As for B&A, Jesus wept it's like a nursery when Santa pays a visit. No wonder teams like Chelsea think they are the bees testes when grown men on a Shrewsbury message board cream their crackers at the prospect of playing then. FFS calm down!

Contrary to what many on here have suggested previously, `glory hunters` are not exclusive to Manchester United and Chelsea fans.
Its been a few years since our last big game\Wembley trip so this might serve as a timely reminder to many.

and within 10 days of Chelsea, we start our FA Cup campaign. MM and MW tick all the boxes for me so far, and feel sure MM has not lost sight of our long term goal this season, particularly the next 6 league games.
so you can stuff Bournemouth even if that fixture gets several brief mentions on BBC final score. Bring on Chelsea, we may respect them, we certainly do not fear them. finally welcome back JT!
