Many town fans have been saying it for abit now he's what we needed . But what a performance.considering he hasn't played for abit , to come back and play like that . Not forgetting the rest of the team btw . A class act

He possibly needs the 2 great holding players alongside him but they need him to go forward. All 10 outfield players were amazing tonight, keeper wasn't he had nothing to do.

Liam Lawrence oozed class tonight once he got into the game. Some of his one touch passes opened up Norwich and the space he made was a joy to see. Let's hope he has got over the indifferent start to his Town career and we see a lot more of him in the coming weeks

I thought he was the absolute doggy Bs tonight.
But, Woods and Weso behind him carry the water
Him or Clark thrive int he freedom that brings.
That position only works in a 3-5-2

I think the more games he gets under his belt the better he will get. Some real quality corners tonight aswell bang on the money every time . Been a while since I could say that .

Yeah, early on it was a case of "oh a corner we never do anything with them" as it been so long since we have been a regular threat with them but by the end you expected a 2nd goal from one as they weren't great on crosses.

I did comment to a mate tonight that his attitude was jemson-esque in terms of bollocking other players if the pass to him wasn't straight to his feet - perhaps why he has been left out. All credit though, great performance.

Great to see him back. The man is class and how we can consider playing without him is beyond me.

He is head and shoulders above the rest. The way he makes space for himself, his vision to see passes just oozes class.

Looks a class player at this level and at times he probably is too good in the sense that players arent on the same wavelength. I was surprised he wasnt taken off earlier though because he looked shattered

I did notice him holding his calf a few minutes in and was slightly concerned, but a few seconds later he seemed fine. Had a really good game, but MOM for me was Woods, every time he got the ball there were at least two players trying to get it off him and this freed up space for the players around him. Granted he did give the ball away cheaply a few times in opening ten minutes or so, but got better and better the longer the game went on.

He's doing that against Championship opposition too.
Nothing we can do about him not playing in the past, but we have to keep him in the team from now on.
Clark is an extremely talented footballer and it is harsh to leave him out but Lawrence is just the better player.
Clark will get his chance in the next few weeks with injuries, rotation etc.
In my opinion, the starting 11 last night is our strongest team.

I thought it was his ankle that was troubling him early on, he was certainly limping about and a bit off the pace for 10 mins, seemed to settle down and he got on with it though.
I suspect the reason hes not been playing is injury related rather than attitude.

All credit though, great performance. Bollocking players for misplacing passes is exactly what he should be doing. Hopefully they will learn to get it right - it ain't rocket science and they are professional footballers.

Clarke ironically hasn't played well since the Leicester game. To quote report The Sun.... Lawrence pulled the strings in the midfield last night

Clarke ironically hasn't played well since the Leicester game. To quote report The Sun.... Lawrence pulled the strings in the midfield last night Clark actually played superbly against Luton, in the game that followed Leicester. No doubt the shape of the team, with the three centre backs and wing backs, suits him best as he is central and making runs behind the defence Once we went back to 4-4-2 he was pushed out wide, and I don't think he is really a winger. Maybe Lawrence will drop deeper and Clark come back in when Weso gets his inevitable ban for 5 yellows

The Football League Paper rated Lawrence 4/10 and he was described as "sluggish".
Anybody who was at Southend agree with this?

Leutwiler 6 Gayle 5 NKP 6 Grando 6 Connor 7 Demetriou 6 Woods 7 Lawrence 4 Weso 6 Collins 5 JLAA 6 Clark and Vincent got 6 off the bench and Mangan a 3. The game was the featured L2 match and so each player got a sentence on performance.

Does the team travelling the day before and stopping in a nice hotel actually work? Maybe they enjoy themselves Thursday night with the family too much and don't sleep too well in a strange bed Friday night?

This is a good point. I can't remember the last time we have "stayed in a nice hotel" to avoid travelling down on the day of the game and actually got a result.

Some teams fly in on the day. Wonder if Chelsea will be asking for permission to land at Shawbury?

As they are preparing to land, tell the pilot that it is foggy and divert them to East Midlands. Bus them to Derby and put them on a train to Shrewsbury with a change at Crewe. That should put them in the mood.
