Don't much care for highlighting criticism of individual performances on these boards, demotivating, debilitating and morale lowering. what is needed now is a big gee up for the squad from MM, we have a big game upon us on Tuesday. a win could open floodgates of cash for the Club.
individual criticism of the manager is ok, he shoulders responsibility for his team and sub. selections. please lay off the players and start thinking of questions to MM in November if things do not improve for Town in the next 6 awkward games.
We had a great start to the season but September has been a poor month for Town so far.
positives -------- we are still in 6th place, we maintain +5 GD but we are where we are not through our efforts, but because other clubs falling by the wayside. others like Bury and Plymouth are catching us up. so think on MICKY MELON'S MARVELS, perhaps time to start earning some corn in exchange for 2 year contracts. now that is group Criticism, may have a beneficial result. eh MM and er new Ruddy Badge!
negatives -----------
low gates 6 awkward games coming up temporary lack of fire power up front!
soon someone is going to get hit for six!

Nonsense AJ! Do you seriously suggest that we shouldn't discuss player performance on here?
Player abuse would be intolerable but healthy discussion of a players performance is absolutely fine.

As fans we evaluate the teams performance and find reasons for our failings. We form opinions on how we could improve and identify weaklinks.
If you don't like it football messageboards are not for you.
Abusing individuals at games is completely uncalled for. In the pub, to the person you are with at the football or on here are exactly the place fans issues/opinions should be aired.
The idiots that booed at half time yesterday are a disgrace.

Its OK Hughie we heard you the first time.
It should be very interesting that when AJ makes the long awaited appearance in the stands at the Cheltenham game he sees what the majority of the posters here on Blue and Amber sees. He may then choose to make suitable criticism of the playing staff. For a far off exile the number of posts that he makes is astounding. How can he comment so frequently when he lives so far away.
Over to you AJ.

Fair enough your a fan and moved away for whatever reason , but don't see how you can put a thread like this and say so much about the town when you hardly ever see them .

soon someone is going to get hit for six! You must have gone spare last season if you ever read Francis the German slash sometime Salop fan's posts. They were nothing but criticism of individual performances.

Like AJ I come from an era before social media. Whilst I did at one time felt uncomfortable with some of the comments about player performances , is it any different from what the Sunday Sports pages have been doing since professional football began. The best example of this is giving players marks out of 10. Get say a 4, and it is sometimes accompanied by a word such as stinker.
The genie is out of the bottle and we have to live with social media.

How is mentioning the poor/average performance of one player on here any different to the conversations that will be had between friends walking back into town from the ground?

No different at all Taffy, but if you were in the pub and talking b******s yer mates would tell you so..... :-) :-) The other difference is you only have one side of the story and a personal perspective, until others correct your view or try and impress their opinion on the comment it may not be balanced or non-biased.

Spot on - what I mean is discussion and/or disagreement is part of the game. Hence why loudmouths like Robbie Savage make a living ha ha.

I respect all your views and will try to avoid stupid posts on here. of course matron and others are right we have to discuss performances on here.
please note I left Shropshire in 1958 and stuck indoors caring for a 100 year old mother means I spend a lot of time on social media.
when AJ drops a cob on here he normally does it in style. but I am looking forward to a 3 night break up there with my very rare visit to the stadium. please bear with an old fool. Floreat Salopia!

If I was a pro footballer I'd never look at my club's message board, unless I was playing really well of course.
Many years ago I had a spell playing semi pro where the 'crowds' barely topped 100, so every comment could be heard. I still remember some of them as I cry myself to sleep.
