Any ideas why it wasn't the one named in the programme? The one named Mr Mathieson is one of the most experienced and would have been ideal for such a match. I wasn't impressed with who we had at all or his linesman by the East stand but in no way am I blaming any one for the result just wondering why we bother to name the ref in the programme when it isn't necessarily correct.

Thought he was ok. Very lenient but got the big decisions right.

so we blame the ref, blame individual players etc. With the greatest respect the reasons for our result yesterday were set out in random thoughts on the game 3 days before the game. in other words Newport's 17th lowly position was caused by missed results against 6 top teams they played out of 8.i believe Newport may see better days ahead beginning yesterday sadly town's team performance did not help. Sorry Refs do not normally win or lose games, team performances do!

I agree they will do well, probably the best opposition we have played so far and will likely be a top half team this season.
