Altho it sounds like some of the Newport fans didn't cover themselves in glory today outside the ground, have to say they made a decent noise, got behind their team and their response to the usual sad and predictable 'sheep sh@""er' insults were good and left our resident 'banterists' with nowhere to go other than the genius ingerland, ingerland...

It's not to everyone's liking but the "we know what we are" ...chant does raise the rafters once or twice per away match, a bit of a rallying cry. Now that it's not done to death I suppose we are stuck with it. I'm in the camp that used to join in but sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable with it. Showing my age I suppose. Some years back some of our fans got a bit precious when any sheep****** chant was raised by rival fans, but we would happily strike up one nil to the s/s when we scored. Happy medium I suppose is what we have now.

We'll you did get to play in the Welsh Cup, but we were smart enough not to let you play in Europe if you ever managed to win it!

Never felt right about being in the Welsh cup to be honest.Thought it was Eufa that stopped us being in Europe

Yes, UEFA ruling of course. Hereford, Worcester and Kidderminster too. Did make it a bit more competitive.

Yer them admitting to shagging a sheep is something we should congratulate them on obviously... Not for me I think it's a s**t comeback and they are just taking the p**s out of themselves.
The "I wanna go home" chant gave me a chuckle, To which then we reminded them where the live.

Don't think they were admitting to anything Pughy lad, more a way of just laughing at themselves and showing the predictable yawn inducing chant didn't bother them and instead turned it round into something which galvanised their support. Just think it is something we could learn from when we get the usual stuff thrown our way instead of the usual ingerland crap. For the record I am aware how much worse the atmosphere would be without the efforts of your mob, just think you are constantly let down by the boring repetitive crap that comes from some others around you every home game.

We need to move away fans in block 1 and our fans/singers in both ends!

We need to move away fans in block 1 and our fans/singers in both ends! We need to do something, its becoming an embarrassment the noise we make. And before anyone from block 18 / 19 starts ' well why don't others join in' that was never the case when our vocal support came from the Station End or Riverside! The fact is YOU CANT BE HEARD where you are, either because of the acoustics of the stadium or the fixation on expecting the rest ofthe ground to join in which has never happened before and wont start now

The one time the South Stand actually sung it was much louder than anything 18/19 managed all game. Good on the lads up there for trying. but for all the noise they're able to make they almost might as well not bother

The fact is that the Town only have a max of about 500 singers, 450 of which will only sing when things either get really naughty on the pitch (or off it) or when we're on the verge of achieving something great. Out of the 50 who are left, 30 of them only sing when things get moderately naughty, or when we're doing something good or embarrassingly terrible on the day itself.
The other 20 do a bloody good job to at least try and create some atmosphere. The trouble is, it doesn't matter where you put them in the ground you're not going to hear them anyway.
There is a formula to the above : Core singers + great performances/achievements + aggressive/passionate tackling + club legends = atmosphere.
What I have noticed is that if the 'core' singers come up with new songs (especially if they're funny) then the rest tend to sing a bit more, so I would say that if you want more of an atmosphere then concentrate on doing that and then leave the players to complete the rest of the formula !

This "we can't hear you so we don't join in" excuse doesn't wash with me, the majority of block 18 and blocks 17 and 18 can but they can't even be assed to clap along. We do the best we can do and if others can't be bothered to make any noise then that is the reason why the atmosphere is s**t.
I would love the away fans to be moved to blocks 18 and 19 or blocks 1 and 2 and we go in the north stand but I can't see it happening.

Pretty sure the club will say nothing can be done, but worth asking?

For what it's worth, Newport were only behind Portsmouth and Plymouth noise wise for me. A very impressive showing vocally from the 700

1. Nobody made you come 2. Nobody is stopping you leave
