Pretty much what everyone else has said - not that glamorous, but winnable.
I think the away support will be thin on the ground, which will go in our favour.

Happy with that an a winable tie although I was more confident of getting the win last night than I am against Norwich. Still big underdogs but that might work in our favour. with us being at home (swansea). Looking forward to it. Where is Grant Holt these days? Wigan.

Who do you want in the 4th round? It's going to be that easy, I'd play reserves and youth team players, then when we lose, we can say we aren't bovvered.
I wonder if a certain team not too far from Norwich are ever so slightly jealous? Just a thought........

Really looking forward to this game. If we play like last night we have a real chance of causing another upset. Last time I watched us play Norwich at home we got a good stuffing....4-1 I think and Martin Peters was playing for the Canaries. Bring it on...... Thats not too bad , I saw them score 8 against us.

Could have been a better draw but what an experience it must be for the lads. They'll have played against a struggling Championship side, a Premiership team who won promotion last season and next up, a former Premiership outfit doing well in the Championship. Hardly think Norwich will field a second string, but Town must be in with a shout.

Yes, but at least we scored. Juan eight, to the Soosberry.......
Another bonus, was that Grant Holt didn't take us apart, like he did once playing for Rochdale. He had another nail striking partner playing up front with him, called Rickie Lambert. Wonder what happened to him?

I used to Shrewsbury to Norwich in 2.45 hrs. Back in the day...(based at Coltishall). Carrot crunching swampy inbreeds. Almost like family...

Some Juan on their forum has just asked if Norwich have ever signed a player from Shrewsbury. No, I don't think he's Joe King.
**** me gently........

Challenging and slightly disappointing draw. A fairly big name club currently going nicely in the championship, but I don't think they have the glamour to pack GM out and as it's a long midweek trek for their fans I doubt they'll bring too many. They'll be solid favourites to win and it'll be a tough ask for Salop.
That said, a home draw is always a bonus, and if we can play at the top of our game we have a chance. Looking at the likely outcomes in the other third round matches, things will get extremely exciting if we can make it through to round four. Come on you blues!

Can't believe some of the comments. We are a league 2 club drawn at home against a recent Premiership team. This is a great draw

Home advantage is important here. Big chance for the club to really market this imaginatively and fill as many seats as possible. I'll go down The Boathouse later and see what I can find out.

eminently winnable, but do not underestimate Norwich City, they have history of cup runs and winning the milk cup? students of the demise of Manure may recall them coming to grief the season before last at Norwich, beginning imo the eventual downgrading of utd.
But Hey this is midweek and at home, in my book a tie to be savoured, they have the long journey, we have the home support. if we can keep them quiet up front, I see MMM taking us onto greater things in the 4th round.
FS, AJ and 2 "lucky" STFC bears!

I honestly thought we had Citeh for a minute, but it was 22 not 23. I can't believe with Spurs and Forest in the pot (who we have never played), that we ended up with Norwich. First game I ever saw at the GM, Town reserves v Spurs reserves who included Frank Saul!

Holt is at Wigan but hasn't played, rumour of him heading back to Norwich in transfer window.

Can only echo what's already been said. Its a neither here nor there fixtures isn't it. First off, I have the utmost respect for Norwich City, a local club for local people (and I mean that in a good way). But it's neither a game against opposition I would fancy us to beat and it's not a game against opposition which is going to attract the cameras down to the Meadow (and as an exile, that's kinda what you are hoping for)... Still, all said and done it's a third round tie at home and so should get one or two locals down and I think Norwich fans travel in numbers so it should be a great occasion and should earn the club a few quid at the very least. And who knows, Leicester have their minds very much on staying in the Premier League, Norwich you suspect are very much geared to getting back up there...so maybe they'll also put out a weakened side and give us a sniff... Third round tie eh? Blimey...

Holt is at Wigan but hasn't played, rumour of him heading back to Norwich in transfer window. He got loaned to Villa from Wigan who were glad to see the back of him labeling him fat and useless. I don't think he fitted into Wigan's or Rosler style of Football.

That was in January. He's on the Wigan programme but doesn't have a squad number at the moment, supposedly hasn't been involved in pre-season much either.

Poor draw really. Not going to be a bumper crowd or on tv and we will probably lose. I was getting excited too as Spurs and Forest hadn't come out and we end up with Norwich.

Good draw for me. As has been said it's winnable.
All I would say to Norwich is take a look at the Leicester forum when our draw with them came out. They underestimated us to their cost In other words 'don't count your canaries until they are hatched'!

they used to put canaries in cages in coal mines to check for gas, do hope the canaries do not smell our coffee. oh and yes Grant Holt was a tubby bugger in Norwich as well!
Norwich will not take us for granted with town 5 games unbeaten and premier "talent" dispatched away from home, not forgetting the end of the pier show in Blackpool!

Can't believe some of the comments. We are a league 2 club drawn at home against a recent Premiership team. This is a great draw Do not know what there is to be surprised about people being underwhelmed Was the introduction of the big 6 teams from the premiership, and as the lowest team in the competition, would have loved the highest away (For gate money) or the highest at home (TV Money) so to get Norwich, who are a decent team, and probably going to be hard to beat, as they are also flying high, scoring for fun, and realistically we will not get either a full ground or huge tv money, so for those reasons, i am dissapointed with the draw!!

Mainly positive about us, stereotypical Percy Thrower comment and one about us being easy to beat.

Fans have such short memories. So many seasons without a good cup run, then when we have one people start getting picky. Memories of last seasons disaters in the cup competitions seem to have been forgotten. Still you learn in life some people are never happy.

The catering staff had better be at their best if she recommended one of our Pie's sales would rocket , we already have enough Alan Partridges among us so he'd go almost unnoticed ''The cleverest man ever too have lived'' may find some competition from Charles Darwin he tweets so much we may get some recognition their.
