Well deserved. Had a brilliant game. Think he might be a permanent feature at left back.

How does this work exactly? Is it something the new Chief Exec has had a hand in?
It's well deserved (by both players) however it came about, and great to see Salop getting recognition. So often I feel we are one of the forgotten clubs.

A nice award although personally I didn't think he had a great game. He was at fault for our goal and their right winger was their player of the match until he went off which tells its own story.

He was the worst town player on the pitch ! That's a bit harsh for a player that contributed so much to the fight back.

I'd say Wesolowski,Goldson and Knight-Percival all had better games than him.
A goal and an assist is pretty good for a defender though.

these sort of things are often done off stats - goals, assists especially.
So, for a left back to get a goal and an assist it's not too surprising he is in there.

I thought he looked nervous in the first half, should have done better with the Tranmere goal but so should Gayle and Goldson who let the cross come over too easily. Demetriou was much more assured in the second half and was rewarded with his assist and the winning goal. Well done Michael on being included in the team of the week.

Didn't think he played that well but it was a big occasion for him, and he settled down more later on. Thought the assist came from Caton, but either way I suppose it is immaterial now.

He seemed to be playing as an extra winger for a while towards the end of the last match as Tranmere sat back so close to their goal area.

Glad he was but possibly not a tactic to employ against a side with a nippy right winger Agree with others that he looked nervy first half and positioning and distribution wasn't the best but making league debut must have been a bit stressful and credit to him for improving as the game went on.

I thought he had a poor game in general . But just like when a player scores a hat trick , even if they are not involved in 75% of the game they still get MOM . In my opinion knight Percival has looked better at left back defensively and offensively . As said above can't argue with an assist and a goal though , I just hope he doesn't turn into one of these full backs that has one thing on their mind and that's attacking .

Just think we could have drawn the game without his goal! everybody involved with the club has had / will have pelters from fans at some point and if they read b and a they will think wtf ! It's just football though everybody has a diffrent opinion and people just have to deal with it . In his interview on bbc Shropshire he sounds level headed with feet on the ground .

Is it not done by the press?
As to others that may of had a better game than him for Town, does not mean that they were the best in thier positions in league 2 for that week. Where as Demetriou was the best in that position in league 2 for the week, according to who ever does the the team of the week.

Played over a hundred games for Kiddy. Did he really come here for free? Looking to be a pretty shrewd signing.

Just 24 so we did get him on a free. I saw SkySports report the likes of Rotherham,Leyton Orient, Peterbrough and a few others were looking to sign him.

The lad has now played two league games. He had every right to be nervous against Tranmere, if you read some of his comments or listen to him being interviewed playing league football is a massive thing for him. I personally think we are lucky to have him and have seen enough in two games to believe that we have a decent player who is desperate to improve himself.
