I'm walking distance from the ground so have never parked there but there is on street parking on surrounding residential roads. From Moss Lane head for the sorting office and the small housing development next to the ground.
There is also free parking at the leisure centre, about half a mile away and the Tesco store has a big car park. Tesco have a 3 hour time limit, but I don't know whether it's enforced at night.
The George V pub is next to the ground, it's J.W. Lees beer which I don't like but it's popular with the locals and they do food.
My favourite Alty pub is The Old Market Tavern which is on the A56 just before the turnoff for the Stockport Road. It has at least 10 real ales, does food and has live music on Friday nights.
There's an interesting bar in Goose Green, just behind Tesco, it's called Costello's and it's the tap for the local Dunham Massey brewery. Mr Costello used to be head brewer at Boddingtons when they were at Strangeways and made the best bitter in the country. He now brews bitter to the same recipe as well as many other brews.
If you like the continental touch there are 3 Belgian bars on Shaw's Road/Greenwood Street next to the market hall.
Sadly I will not be around for drinks as I'm driving to France in the early hours of Saturday morning, so will be keeping sober and going to bed straight after the game.

I think I might give Costello's a go, make a change from john willy lees!

Was going with my normal traveling companion tomorrow, unfortunately he needs to now leave earlier and I don't finish until 5:30.
Is anyone else going after that time? Is it doable on a Friday evening with traffic to get there for 7:45?
I'm in two minds about driving up myself, but if anyone is able to offer a lift I'm all ears.

It should be do-able providing there is no catastrophic incident on the M56 - the traffic into Manchester doesn't normally back up past Junction 7 (the Altrincham turn) in my experience (I used to work in Llanymynech and commute back to Manchester by car).

I don't know where you're starting from, but the A49 via Whitchurch to the A56 at Sandiway then straight to Alty could be a better route.

Anyone know whether the Alty terraces are all covered or not? Looks like it from google street view, but not sure having never been there before. It gives it ripping it down tomorrow day and night, so hope so!

Cheers guys for responses.
Yep, forecast not looking too clever, another factor to take into consideration.
I haven't missed a Pre Season Friendly and this will be my last match until September. I also missed the F.A. Trophy game there so it would be a new ground.
Decisions, decisions . . . .

Hopefully there will be more than enough room in the main stand....we don't fancy getting soaked on the open away end!

Hopefully there will be more than enough room in the main stand....we don't fancy getting soaked on the open away end! Just rang the club for clarification. They don't plan to segregate fans tonight and certainly don't expect us to stand in the wet on an open terrace! There are covered terraces that we can use and the main stand will be open to home and away fans. It's £7 to stand or sit. They are only expecting a small crowd (300 or so).

There's another Shrews fan who lives within walking distance of Alty's Moss Lane stadium: my wife! Stamford Park Road for us. I've been an Alty supporter for over forty years, however, my wife spent her formative years in Bayston Hill and was even educated at The Wakeman Grammar School overlooking the old Gay Meadow ground. Plenty of heavy rain in Alty this afternoon, so bring your galoshes.

Managed to get there, thank you to David Fletcher. Just back. I think the crowd was given as 314 (or was it 341?) We thought there looked a few more than that.
Enjoyed the evening and managed to avoid getting too wet (big holes in the roof on the terracing we were in on the far side to the main stand!!)
Alty played very well and have some reasonable looking players. Based on that performance I think they will hold their own in the Conference.
We played with a 1 to 11 with the exception that there was no number 4 and instead Jordan Clarke started, wearing number 20. We were therefore assuming a late injury to whoever was 4, possibly Weslowski as he wasn't involved on the bench? Hopefully just precautionary.
I think the keeper and back 4 that started tonight will be how we line up at AFC Wimbledon as will the front 2, assuming we go with a front 2 there. Midfield will be more interesting. Lawrence was very commanding and skippered the side well, I think the armband will be his after tonight. Ryan Woods had another good game in the centre and I really like the lad. However, Weslowski has also looked a class act and Aaron Wildig has looked good. What a tough choice, but nice to have it.
Out wide, I really like Caton on the right and his introduction reaped instant reward as he set up the second goal. It will probably be Vincent on the left, but Akpa Akpro showed flashes until his untimely injury and Jordan Clarke has looked more than capable whenever involved either in the hole or out wide right as tonight. Mangen has also looked quality and we certainly have plenty of quality within this squad now.
