Might be worth a bet on them getting relegated.

I don't imagine Koeman would have gone there unless he is getting a good part of the cash to spend - he just needs to spend it as well as the last couple of managers

Fancy them to go down.
At least they've still got Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin... For now.

The players wanted to leave.
Koeman has a blank canvas.
I think they've absolutely milked every single one of those transfers except Lambert.
£96 million isn't it? Wiping out their debts and giving the new chap a 60 million war chest.
They've got a fabulous youth system and evidently a decent scouting network.
Bale, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, now Shaw and this young lad going to Arsenal. Chuck in Lallana and next world cup England might have at least five of their youth products in the squad.

Its testament to their youth system but it must grate a bit. Appreciate there probably isn't a lot they can do about it (if the players want to leave then they will and in doing so probably doubling their wages) but to see all their good work being hoovered up by the cartel clubs who can just throw money at it. It must get Saints fans down a bit. I know that this is modern football. This is how it works. That is the Premier League. But even so, its disappointing to see it happen. Just once again demonstrates how the money available to a small number of clubs now dominates the game. And yes maybe it's always been that way but not to the same extent that we see today. And it's a shame that.

If they spend the money they've recieved they'll be fine, although clubs they wish to buy players from know full well how much the have to spend, so they will probably get bumped up abit!

Ward-Prowse, Clyne, Reed, Gallagher. Still plenty of talented youngsters to come in with some solid pros like Cork, Davis, Fonte alongside Schneiderlin and Rodriguez, although they will probably leave for the right price. Tadic is a good player who they've replaced Lallana with, and Besic is another decent player they're set to bring in. Personally think they'll be fine, early signs suggest they're re-investing some of their money and Koeman is no mug. Burnley, Leicester, WBA & Sunderland all need to be more worried IMO. Swansea as well, Monk hasn't convinced me and they're also selling key players.

Just once again demonstrates how the money available to a small number of clubs now dominates the game. And yes maybe it's always been that way but not to the same extent that we see today. And it's a shame that. It's the way it is. Not just the big clubs in this country, but all over Europe. Look at Real Madrid and Barcelona: £75m for Suarez £80m for Cristiano Ronaldo £75m (allegedly) for Neymar £90m for Bale Ok, they may not have come from small clubs but the point is that the big clubs always have the money to win. We saw what happened when Abramovich first went to Chelsea, they seemed to be buying players who would only start a handful of games for them. With the Premier League money continually rising, it's not going to change anytime soon. I'm no big fan of German football, from a personal view. But to be fair, I don't think the likes of Bayern play massive transfer fees - like I say, not 100% so feel free to put me right there. If I'm right, got to hand it to them on that. On that subject, Toni Kroos was the steal of the summer for Real Madrid. Shocking how he went for as similar price as Adam Lallana - shocking from Liverpool, that is.

If they can keep Bony, then that will be what matters for them. Sigurdsson is a good signing, underused at Spurs.

Yeah, it is the way it is but I do think its a shame. I mean we're talking here about whether Southampton will be alright since they have once again lost their best talent. Alright as in whether they'll have enough to avoid relegation. That's just crazy for a club can that clearly produce such talent. Instead of Saints fans thinking about whether one or two more might come through the system to add to an already decent side they're now back to square one thinking what could have been. s**te state of affairs...
