The heat must have been a major factor yesterday. The humidity made it difficult to walk around let alone play football. The scottish players would've been less acclimatised to it though!

Still everyone reacts differrently to heat. Lets hope for more normal conditions for the next match, then maybe we will have a better idea of the capabilities of the team.

Very impressed by Manganese, good touch, passes well and mobile, he can also beat his man. I agree Manganese has all the elements of a good player, I just hope there is some chemistry between him and the rest of the team. But I do worry about him getting sent off for a reaction.

Well played town, holding a Scottish premier league club. Town may not stroll league 2,but top 6 is possible IMO Kilmarnock would not get near being promoted from English L2. Apart from Celtic the SPL is generally L1/2 standard.

His first game in the League for us will be the litmus test.

Apart from Celtic the SPL is generally L1/2 standard. I watch a bit of the SPL, and Killie were one of the poorer sides in it last season, although imo that still makes them strong L2 standard. It's hard to compare directly however, as the style is a bit different, and the range of abilities both between the different teams and between the squad of players within each team is far bigger than it is in L1/L2. Let's not forget that Aberdeen and St Johnstone defeated teams from the Dutch and Swiss top flights in the Europa League this week. I very much doubt that any L1/L2 teams could manage that. In the first half yesterday, our first team outplayed Kilmarnock's first team, and I think that can definitely be considered another decent effort.

Nice to see that Connor was captain for yesterday's match. Personally doubt he will be captain for the season but definitely a Town captain in the future if he stays long enough.

Yes Goldson has always been very confident and vocal on the pitch and maybe he is future captain material. However, in what might his first full season playing in his best position, I would prefer that he didn't have any other distractions.

I guess the more players who are prepared to take responsibility on the pitch the better. Be nice to have a match day squad of 18 winners and leaders.

Do you think that the team we put out in the first half was our first team? I would be disappointed if that was the case.

Do you think that the team we put out in the first half was our first team? I would be disappointed if that was the case. It's difficult to say. Thankfully this season that's a good thing, because there's competition everywhere. However, I don't think that was far off. In goal, regardless of who eventually gets the shirt, Leutwiler was the only fit senior keeper yesterday, so he was certainly the strongest we could have played. I think that back four is our strongest back four. I thought they did well together, and I hope that's the combo Mellon goes with against Wimbledon. Midfield is more difficult. Personally, I think the team's outstanding area of strength is central midfield, so I'd attempt to take advantage of that by playing 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. However, assuming we are going to stick with 4-4-2, with Lawrence out injured you could make a case for that being our best central midfield. In terms of wingers, yesterday was more of a 4-2-4 than a 4-4-2, so perhaps it's true to say that this is one aspect we might not have played in a first team game. However, personally I would start Vincent regardless of formation. The other place is up for grabs, but I'd probably chose Clark on the left, as I think he needs to be included somewhere in the starting 11. Caton has absolutely brilliant feet, but I'm starting to get the impression crossing isn't his strong point, so perhaps he's better used as an impact sub for now. He'd have walked into our side last season though. Up front I think Collins and Vernon are definitely MM's preferred front 2, and I think he'd like to accommodate them as a partnership if he possibly can, so again I think that was our first team.
