Errrrrrrrrrrm. That really doesn't make any sense at all. I gather the people he does know were unable to get tickets for the home end because Polish fans were taking them up. So his point is valid. Polish fans should not have been allowed to purchase tickets in the home end meaning his mates would have been able to pick up a ticket. That's a really strange way your looking at things there... My point is there was loads of time to buy tickets. If you left it to the last minute you cant expect to get tickets. I believe it sold out on Friday No, I don't go with that at all. If you are missing out because the home end is full of England fans then I agree. That's your own look out. If however, the tickets have gone to away fans then that's not right. And I don't blame England fans for being a tad miffed if they were unable to get a ticket. Consider the same with a domestic game. What if Town fans missed out on a home game against some top Premier League with a decent following because away fans had bought tickets for the home end. The "well you should have bought them before the away fans did, they were available ages ago" certainly wouldn't go down well with me (and a fair few others I've no doubt)...its the home end for home supporters. Simple as. Not first come, first serve for anyone who wished to attend.

I see where you're coming from Stutty but Martin is right - if you wanted a ticket for the home end you had ample time to get one.

Ant, ClunShrew was saying above that you had to have a purchasing history to get a ticket for the game, therefore there was probably lots of England fans who wanted tickets but were unable to for this reason. Therefore does seem to be a bit rich to suggest "if you wanted a ticket you had plenty of time to get one" You could argue they were restricted because of fears of Poland fans buying tickets for our end, however if your an England fan who would like to go to the game and there are tickets available but you cant purchase them AND then you see those tickets given to Poland fans, well no wonder people are annoyed with the FA.

If it was not possible for England fans to buy tickets and instead these we're given to away fans then I agree with you. There does appear to be conflicting stories here though - id also be interested to know how some Poland fans got tickets for the home end (evident on TV) if you did need to having a purchasing history etc to buy a ticket.

Towards the end of august the FA madeit you had to have purchase history to restrict sales. Even with this people could still buy tickets last week. I take it you think wimbledon were wrong to sell me a home end ticket two seasons ago? I bought ticket otherwise I was going to miss a Town game in London for second time in last 25 years.

I must admit Im only going by what is said on this thread. Id agree with your viewpoint that if if it was a free for all and we didnt snap them all up then we cant moan (although its still debtable if we should have given the Poles extra tickets). However as Ive said above its out of order if Poles were given tickets that England fans wanted but were unable to purchase.
As for the Poles having tickets for the home end, nothing stopping England fans with purchasing history buying them for them.

It's a bit rich come what may... The home end is for home fans. Just because some Polish chap got his order in before some English chap doesn't mean owt. It's not first come, first serve. It's an area of the ground allocated to home supporters. So if you missed out because some Polish chap your seat (unless there was no segregation of course, if these areas of the ground were designated neutral...which I gather wasn't the case) then you have every right to be cheesed off... I guess we'll have to agree to disagree...

I wasn't comfortable with giving an extra allocation to Poland in the away end.
But if tickets were available for the home end, up until a few days before kick-off (and there is some conflicting evidence to suggest whether this is the case or not) for a game we've known would be crucial for some time, then I would expect anyone who really wanted to go to have got themselves sorted sometime before (other factors such as cash flow etc. aside).
