Well done Tom that was a amazing hatrick,i think he has got us the points to keep us in league 1. Which goal was the best out of the 3,for me it had to be the third it was a strike i didn't expect to see hit the back of the net.

Arguably our three best goals this season. Wonderful player - likely to finish as our top scorer despite being here just two months - and has that touch of class to go with his power and work-rate that suggests to me that he could easily play in the Premiership one day.

is he better than holty ? its touch and go felt sorry for him on the penalty richards should have been a man and offered him the ball i kind of think that was such a bad decision by richards too, he's already lost many fans this season and that certainly will have lost him a few more missing it was not an option there seemed to be some anger in that 3rd strike and no keeper was stopping it far too good for us, wouldnt be surprised if its his last game for us well done tom fantastic 2nd half ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Correct me if I'm wrong but is Eaves' hat trick the last STFC one since Jake Robinson?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is Eaves' hat trick the last STFC one since Jake Robinson? Ainsworth I think. Good player with great potential but no where near the finished article. I was getting quite frustrated with him first half.

2nd goal was the best, Powerful individual run and fantastic chip over the keeper.

Fantastic hatrick, some excellent skill effort and strength. Would really like to keep him up front cos he is leagues apart from what we are used to. Well done Tom ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Great to see a player with such potential in the Blue and Amber mind, however short a period that may be

Wright (H) v Hereford, but last one was Ainsworth (A) v Lincoln Paul Good stats, ta Mart ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) His 2nd today made it into the top 3 goals of the day on Sky. I think Eaves HT beats Wrighty's & Ainsworths by the fact that all 3 of Eaves' were beauties.

I was getting quite frustrated with him first half. Have to admit I was having a bit of a grumble about him first half - didn't think he was holding the ball up too well or linking up that well with other strikers. Great judge me! Second half was a totally different matter and has to go down as one of the best performances by a Town striker, two top notch goals of power and accuracy that really wouldn't look out of place in the premier league. The build up to the second was perhaps a touch fortunate but the finish was very well taken As others have said will probably go down as the signing that kept us in League One. Just a shame he won't be here next season

Three great goals and let's hope we see a few more from him before he returns to Bolton.
Obviously has great potential with that quality of finishing but will be a work in progress for some time yet at Championship level, never mind higher. His touch needs a lot of work and he won't find his strength getting him past better defenders so easily. But good luck to him - at our level, he's lethal.

Just saw the goals on FLS - agree with Manish, you probably won't see a better hattrick this season.
Love how Claridge tried to take the credit for him signing, by saying that he was speaking to Graham Turner a few weeks ago about him signing a striker!

Oops my misses just walked in on me watching that piece of football pornography. Needless to say I'm in the doghouse for watching such filth behind her back.

I didn't think he was trying to take credit for it, he just said that he had been taking to GT who said he needed some to score and it looks like they've found one. He did say it was as good as Berkamp's hat trick.

as he is an unfinished article and if he was for sale, would he be worth 250k to shrews in their champioship promo push next season. the lad seems happy here, learning his craft. i am sure he will get amongst the goals in shrews 2-1 win at yeovil next week.

As soon as the third went in I thought, that's the best hat-trick I have seen by a town player since one scored by Tony Kelly at the old ground. Or is my memory failing again. I am sure Kelly scored, against?, the perfect hat-trick, left foot, right foot, header. Maybe others can confirm. If I am right, then it completes a circle, Kelly to Bolton and years later, Eaves from Bolton.
Also, a mate of mine said on the way out, "God, I thought Arthur Rowley was back". With the power young Eaves hit the ball I can see what he meant. Another memory to add to those that will slowly build up the feeling that this new ground is getting its own atmosphere and magic memory bank.

Lets just hope he's happy at Town and enjoying himself. Whilst I don't think we have any chance of signing him you never know about another loan. If it's a decent match and he is happy to be at Town then perhaps we may see him again next season. Fingers crossed cos he can clearly score goals at this level... Rather fancy I won't get to see these goals either. Rum... ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

The last home hat trick would have been Jake Robinson's against Bradford I think. Wasn't that also a perfect combination - left, right & head (though not necessarily in that order)? All hat tricks are special (though much less so if the clincher is a charitable penalty!) but Eaves' yesterday was really very special.
