Weale 7. Couple of decent saves but flapped at a couple of crosses today Gayle 6. Not a great game but his goal line clearance was vital. Jones 8. Perhaps even his many critics on here will admit he was very good today Mambo 8. This lad is good and vocal! Jacobsen. 5 Not great, responsible for their goal Taylor 8 Running out of complements Macallister 6 Thought he was outmuscled today rather worryingly McGinn 6 Moments of quality but not much of an influence Richards 7 Steady, better at LB later on Morgan 7 Hard working as ever Rodgers 6 Whats going on with his fitness?
Parry 7 He looked better and did make an impact Summerfield 7 Please start him next week GT Purdie 6 Did a job
MOM Jones with Mambo not far behind

Not doing the whole lot, just thought this is the best place to ask for others opinion of McGinn today?
IMO he was rubbish early on and then improved to become fairly anonymous for most part.

Thought it was Mambo who cleared it off the line?

Weale 7 - No chance for the goal. More or less untested otherwise but did no wrong. Gayle 7 - Far more convincing on the right than the left. Jones 8 - The "Calamity Jones" tag certainly seems very unfair given some very convincing and consistent performances since the New Year. Mambo 8 - Another very good performance at the heart of the back four. Makes Hector look an amateur. Jacobson 5 - At fault for the goal but to be fair was possibly fouled in the build up. Seems consistently... average... at the moment. Taylor 8 - Always looks like the best bet to score. Good finish squeezed between keeper and post. McGinn 7 - Hope we can sign him in the Summer. Looks class. McAllister 7 - Does all the hard donkeywork in midfield. His workrate and tenacity is unrivalled in our team. Richards 7 - I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN HE PLAYS WIDE LEFT - DON'T DO IT TURNER. Looked better at left back and did well to keep his head for the penalty winner. Morgan 7 - Worked hard as always, and was particularly menacing as PNE tired in the closing stages. Rodgers 5 - Not on message today.
Parry 7 - An encouraging first team return. Looked a yard quicker than I remembered and some intelligent attacking play. Summerfield 7 - Needs to make a wide position his own as I can't see him playing in the centre as things stand. Did well. Purdie 7 - Effective at closing out the match.

For me that was Chris Weale's weakest performance of the league campaign looked unconvincing with a couple of crosses and failed to command a couple of other situations. However, he still made a few smart saves, especially the couple low down that he would have seen late, and the deflected. looping shot destined for the top corner which he touched over.
Stephen McGinn was fine for the first hour and while I have a lot of time for Luke Summerfield I would be more than happy to see Dave McAllister and McGinn together in the middle for the rest of the season. I thought McGinn faded in the last half hour, but that is the first meaningful game he has started for nearly two years and the decision to start him was spot on.
JT was my man of the match. He worked hard, broke up a lot of play around whichever side of the pitch he happened to be on and scored a decent goal with a well struck shot. Hope he is not too badly injured as we would be right in the mire without his tenacity and goals.

What's happened to joe recently? On the back of the last couple of weeks, put Purdie or Richards down at left back in my opinion and get some attack and flair in parry on the left as he looks sharp

I thought he was ok in parts. He's had little match time over the last year or two so must be only 60/70% match fit at the moment. I can only see him getter better and better. He is going to be very influential in our midfield over the coming months.

Plus points for me yesterday:
a) Mambo & Jones looked really solid at the back. First time I've seen Mambo play and I was impressed. Certainly very commanding and vocal.
b) Paul Parry. Pleased that he got an opportunity, did enough to suggest a return to the starting eleven.
c) Gayle. Saved us on the line twice.

Interesting to see the marks given by our supporters who actually went to the game, especially when they are viewed against the marks given by so-called sports writers of the Sunday rags.
Mambo 6 by both papers. Jones 5, 6. Jacobsen 5 by both. McGinn 5 by both.
Goes against what most fans are giving. Much prefer our lads marks, especially as both papers have Parry as an un-used sub.?

On the back of the last couple of weeks, put Purdie or Richards down at left back in my opinion and get some attack and flair in parry on the left as he looks sharp Purdie is NOT suited to left back, as was proved by his display at Leyton Orient. Left backs need to be predominantly left footed, which Purdie is not. I agree that McAlister and McGinn look to have the makings of a quality central midfield partnership, just as the Jones/Mambo combination looks full of promise at the back. Mambo was my man of the match.

Has McGinn's loan been extended then? As far as I knew it was just the month.

Mambo was my man of the match. Great questionning from Stuart Dunn again to GT post match which encouraged him to talk at some length about his feelings about Richards. When GT said many thought left back was Richard's best position I it that GT was one of them and we may now see him there more often, especially with the increased options in the centre of midfield
