Yes indeed we will all miss him on the Riverside, think like many Town players they went backwards under Quinn.

Not at all. I became resigned to the fact Aiston was going when JP told me he'd probably be off. I just expect a better replacement, or certanly one who is just as good. One could say the same about Luke Rodgers, or wished Mossy the same. Whats the point though? The fact was that Aiston was the only player who even looked remotely interested after March in our relegation season (Luke spent most of it suspended). He has provided bouts of flair in an otherwise dull side over the last couple of years. For 50K he hasnt been to bad value. And he'll be part of a team pushing for promotion too next season. probably a better move for him than otherwise staying here.

We all knew Sammy was going, just surprised he got a deal at a club that rejected him for medical reasons 2 years ago
Sam is a legend. but if we want to nullify his threat next year just let him beat his man and expect the ball to bobble tamely across the 6 yard line

Most of Ratcliffe's squad had left before Quinn arrived. Looking back at pages 530 backwards on this m/board it felt that we got promoted despite Quinn rather than because of him. I think we should trust our judgment at the time. Sam would have left two years ago if Ratcliffe has still been here. He benefitted from Quinn's reign - not to mention the step down in standard. Just to underline: I'm glad the QuinnReaper has gone.

To be fair wasnt he out from the first day of the season untill early January with some knee injury???
Then when he came back he had a few iffy performances to start off with (exeter away?) and KR tried to loan him to Kidderminster, he dissapeared from the first team and the subs bench for a while and then came roaring back against Rochdale at home (early march).
I suspect a lot of it had to do with winning a new contract, but hey there were a lot of other players out of contract at the end of the season who didnt make quite the impact they could should have done either at the begining of the season or as the season wore on/came to a close.
LOL JP-I still maintain it was you who told me DD was on 1800 pounds a week

Nah Rob that was bantered about for ages mate, someone on the Rushden site said he was on summat like 1200 their thats all I know. He's not alone in being paid overflated wages here though...Rodgers, Smith, Howie, Tinson and Walton have all been doin ok wage wise.

If you want good players you generally have to pay decent wages. And lets be honest as a nonleague/struggling div3 club in a town with high house prices and s**t facilities its not as if we can wow them with our state of the art stadium and facilities is it (aimed at the board/council/property developers etc.)

O/T wages
Howie should be the biggest earner at the club. The man is a hero.
