Ugly hoofball may get you some results but contributes nothing to football as a sport. Horrible unsporting team, cocky fans and dreadful football from "Sarfend". Their fans didn't even applaud their own team off. Great play from the Salop. So proud to be a Town fan and to win with some class despite being down to ten men

Thought it was a rather unintelligent display by Southend yesterday. With a man advantage for nearly 2/3 of the game they should have kept possession much better, and made us work to get the ball back. Instead they played it in the air a lot which is easy for our defence to deal with
From the BBC stats we had 49% possession compared to thieir 51% plus we had more shots and twice the corners they did.
Getting the win was great but on yesterday's performance I'm not so sure Southend are the shoe in for automatic promotion I thought they were

They seem to be doing better than us so far using the tactic. It's just one way of playing the game, long ball to the forwards then a few passes. need to remember that their main creative player was on the bench after some personal issues and scored when he came on, so had he been able to play the whole game they may have been stronger. Lotsof teams have used the tactic to get promoted ahead of us, would i rather be promoted or feel morally superior because my team plays it prettily? good question, the former probably, the latter is sometimes a cold comfort for teams that nearly made it.

They were direct but wouldnt describe them as ugly hoofball. They disapointed me a bit considering they are top and had a man adventage but Id like to give us credit for that rather than focusing on them
But I can see why they are doing well
