I can't go as it's midweek.
If I lived in Shrewsbury then I'd be there. Same priced ticket to watch Salop vs, a premier league team (no matter how new they are) as to watch Salop vs Crewe. No arguments from me.

I know its not that reflective, but instresting tha the Price thing has seemed to have an effect on how people are feeling about next week...
Guess only the attendance will be final say on how much of an effect its had

Yes, I'll be there. I don't beg for discount in the shops or pubs I frequent so don't get why the football should be any different? Cant see anyone begging for discount the point trying to be made is that many other clubs don't charge 'full price' for this type of fixture and offer better value and consideration for their fans than STFC do All about value for money and the clubs attitude towards their fans Most people do shop around to get a fair price which you can't do if you support a football team.......

Which "other clubs" in our league have offered reduced price for home games against top flight opposition? Bad business in my book, devaluing a game which should be a good attraction for supporters. I hope Shrewsbury Town make as much money as they can and invest it to get us out of this awful division.

The question is just how much of a crowd puller is round 2 of the Carling cup? Cant be bothered to check but I dont believe the attendances are on a par with the FA cup or league games so others have special deals to try and create more atmosphere and interest but we choose not to. Most Premiership teams play weakened teams so 'the spectacle' of a premiership draw is watered down and incentives are required to maximise attendance! Or you (not you) can stick your head in the sand and fail to promote the game to the Maximum and just carry on doing what we've done in the past........... We'll know after Tuesday and it will be interesting to compare the two games Shrews v Swansea and Northampton v Wolves

It's a shame about the pricing, there could have been some incentive but lets not pretend we are talking about the Johnstons Paint. If Swansea play the reserves then great, better chance of getting a result.
Also if town do get a result and get a major club in the third round I doubt many will have the same attitude.

2 out of the usual 4 going I think they could have had cheaper tickets as it's sandwiched between two home games, but as a STH I'm only paying for this one now. I don't honestly know if I'd have have given it a miss if I'd had to buy full price tickets for the league games

Should"ve run something for non season ticket holders in conjunction with the next home league game vs Swindon, maybe £25/adult - season tkt holders at a discounted price for the cup game

Not going , no point , too expensive , everybody's skint !!!!!!!!!! Swansea reserves Why does that make any difference? Your going to support shrewsbury not Swansea?? Them playing reserves gives us more of a chance! Herefords full team is not as good as Swansea reserves yet you would still pay to watch that?

The answer will be when they announce the attendance tonight. Good attraction? We beat them in the league in the 2005 season, and have finished above them in the league within the last ten years. Swansea have played two premiership games since the inception of the premiership in 1992. They are a well run club who play football the right way, and for that I respect them, but they are not a big draw. And a previous poster summed it up quite well, it is not about the price per se, it is about the attitude behind the price.

Think the point about premier and championship sides putting out reserve sides is that it indicates they aren't that fussed whether they won or loose the tie. I'm sure the team Swansea put out will be a good one, and will want to win, but as a club they wont be that fussed about the result When you have one side not that bothered about the result I don't see it as a competitive game and that's the reason I won't be going tonight. In the league you at least know both clubs are going into the match wanting to win it That doesn't mean it can't be an entertaining game - as Charlton was last season. However would much prefer us to get stuffed 5.0 tonight but pick up a win against Swindon

Wonder how many will revert to paying full price if we draw one of the big boys in the next round? It'll be interesting to see. Great showing tonight by the way, well worth the admission fee

Great showing tonight by the way, well worth the admission fee but you are talking about supply and demand if we draw man u at home we could in theory sell 20,000 tickets at £20 today there was far more supply than demand tonight in my opinion we could have attracted more fans and made more money where the line actually was in optimum pricing against profit is up for debate whether the club should have treated the fans is a bigger debate from the thread we had on the subject i think maybe another 1000 would have attended had it been £12 town might have lost £5K in my opinion but a 1000 extra fans with a good cup win freshly etched in the memory goes a long way and worth far more than 5 grand in the long run would we have got an extra 1000? we'll never know we don't even have anything to compare it by

There you go.... kiss of death Or not - another memorable CCup night. Pricing arguments are one thing but if some stay away because they don't think it's competitive enough, that's their loss. I'll forget dozens of humdrum league games before I forget the Derby and Swansea wins - and a few other recent CCup ties. The league may be our (and everyone's) bread and butter but life's too short for a diet of that alone.
