Just seen the red card tackle again - ouch. I realised it was bad at the time, but perhaps not quite as bad as it actually was. I agree with most of what's been said. I'd also like to give Joe Jacobson another mention though - I thought he made an excellent debut and looks like someone who tries to play football the right way. We looked far more balanced with him at left-back.

Yeah would agree with that, was very noticable that he was always trying to keep the ball on the deck and was looking for a player, rather than just aimlessly hoofing it forwards

Didn't really see the sending off at the time so couldn't comment but having just watched it back on the FLS I echo the comments of the Crewe fan who posted on another thread. Horrible, horrible tackle with no intention to play the ball at all.
When Wroe made that run foward, for a moment I thought we had Dave Edwards back in the team. Personally I think Wroe is an excellent player and more runs like that each game will be most welcome.

Definate red.
Awful challenge on McAllister, no intention to play the ball.

One man who must be worried is Roland attendance 1500 down on corresponding game last season. Roland will of course take into account factors such as recent form, three home matches in a row with Crewe being the least appetising, V Festival this weekend and we're at the height of the holiday season where a percentage of fans will be elsewhere. Best guide would be the Aldershot match from last season played on Aug 21st where we only pulled 5353. One can calculate that the home element of crowd is down by around 600 as Aldershot brought 234 fans to that match. Unless some remarkable happens on the field this season we brace ourselves for lower crowds in 2011-12. Indeed most clubs can. Agreed Can't quite see the validity in comparing it with the Crewe game last season, Aldershot is a far better indicator and yes, performances will be critical in gaining a decent average this season.
