Think I agree with most above, another ST holder who wont go... cant afford it, if im going to make a couple of away games. Swansea reserves, is not that attractive fixture...

Swansea or Walsall, similar price and that includes travelling to Walsall. Walsall is a local away game, one that we haven't had too often recently, and is looking a little more attractive to me at the moment.

3 Tickets works out at 3 x 17 which is.....lots (£51).
Thus myself and my two offspring will not be attending, I side with those who choose not to pay such a price on this occasion.
Oh Fatbob is out as well as I'm not travelling, that would be £68 not going into Rolands pocket.
Enjoy the night those who do go.

Just one small point, Swansea have to agree to pricing too, so if they wanted cheaper tickets they could have held out for them.
Maybe it isn't just STFC who want the money...

I thought Swansea were prolonging the negotiations - perhaps they wanted cheaper tickets and we didn't. If both clubs wanted cheaper tickets I don't see what the delay was.
As a season ticket holder I do expect to pay for cup games but since the club have my money and my husbands, sons, well in advance (April this year) it would just be nice for a gesture to be made for just one match.

Sam Intresting point, but you could have said the same pre Southampton Cup Game But sadly town were not attempting to help the fans and argue for reduced ticket prices as Southampton were suggesting... they were arguing for higher prices to make sure they got there fair share... again was a long trip for the town fans so the change out of a coupel of quid cheaper would have helped! Artical on that particular debarcal below... both of the clubs came out of it looking pretty rubbish to be fair... www.twohundredpercent.net/?p=9636And a B and A thread on the matter (mostly cheesed off the club) blueandamber.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=10&action=display&thread=70027&page=1All im saying is that in the last 5 years we seem to have developed a money first approach which has turned a lot of fans off.... small gestures got a LONG way with fans, and following the issues with over inflated Pre Season ticket Prices, the middle of troubling economic times for fans, and when season ticket sales have fallen makes people wonder if people are aware of how hard it is for people at the moment to fork out for something which is pass time at the end of the day. I have put a poll up on B and A to see if this price issue is the driving factor on peoples attendance or not of the game.

Went down to get my ticket today, no queue, not sure why I'm going more out of habit and to avoid Eastenders and Casualty. Even Swansea reserve must be better than that, aren't they.

Currently waiting 'in a queue' on the phone to the ticket office, all their operators have been busy for the last 10 minutes apparently!!!

The Southampton and Oldham debacles last season I think are a clear demonstration of this clubs capitalist attitude with little to no regards for customer satisfaction and general value for money. The one time community club has sadly lost all touch with the real world and would rather see a 1/4 full stadium than offer any discounts or concessions to supporters. This combined with the overall match day experience (over-zealous stewards, no cash turnstiles) is driving a good proportion of supporters away and I think we will see numbers down on last year by potentially as much as 1000 per game.
I had the (dis)pleasure of sitting with the Stoke City fans at the Britannia stadium in a european game against my second team Hajduk Split. A near capacity 30,000 people in the clubs first european game in generations, and why? The general admission for any seat in the stadium was £10. A very decent premier league outfit in a european competition on the same week that for the same money I could have watched a fourth division side in a needless friendly against a Manchester United reserves' reserve side. I also must add that the Stoke-Split game was on a thursday night in the last week of July. Any theories that the attendance of our opening game v Plymouth was a result of 'people being on holiday' are futile attempts at defending the clubs aggressive strategies towards its fans.

Am I in a minority of 1 who actually thinks that the present chairman has taken this club as far as he can?
Time for fresh blood and new ideas at the top and it cannot come a day too soon for me - I'd go as far as saying that as long as Mr Wycherley remains as chairman STFC will remain in the lower tier of league football.
Thanks for everything Mr Wycherley but time for change.

No I don't think you are - I have been wondering the same myself for some time. A great chairman who has done a lot we must be thankful for but no doubt some of his appointments both on the footballing side and not are questionable.
However, the club would have to be very, very, careful who over so as not to ruin the undoubted stability he has overseen.

Thanks for everything Mr Wycherley but time for change. RW and KS must both be well into their sixties now, RW may even be in his seventies now, he's certainly reached an age where he cant be bothered to reach for his 'Just For Men' bottle anymore ;D joking aside, I just get the feeling RW wont feel his job is done until we get promoted under his stewardship, but this is dragging on far too long now.... RW has the best interests of the club at heart but I do worry about who he might sell the club to, given some of the 'characters' he has brought in to work alongside him at the club.

I have no evidence to substantiate my view that the club is being set up to be sold, costs are being reduced and attempts are being made to increase revenue. This may all be very prudent in the current economic environment but would be very short sighted. Attendances have grown on the back of promised promotions, each season that promotion fails to happen the number of regular supporters will drop. As any marketeer will tell you it is much easier and cheaper to keep a customer than it is to find new ones.
Now is the time for investment or within 5 years we will be back 3000 attendances.

Becoming a habit in agreeing Ed - even Jonah feels as you do on much nowadays
Gut feeling is that GT is being lined up for the tenure of chairman but I'd like to see somebody like Derek Passant

Gut feeling is that GT is being lined up for the tenure of chairman but I'd like to see somebody like Derek Passant I would have thought being chairman of Hereford United for over 10 years would have scarred GT for life! I dont think he ever really enjoyed working on that side of the game (given how he says he has always regretted doing it) and I'd be surprised if he ever wanted to return to a similar capacity with us in the future.

Checkout the prices for Swansea fans on their website! If those prices are correct either Swansea are subsidising their fans or the Town have scored the biggest own goal ever. Needs to be an urgent statement from the club.

Needs to be an urgent statement from the club. Given that the figure they have quoted of £12 for over 65's and other prices, I would think that the figure of £10 per adult was/is obviously a typo ................. don't you

[/img]
When someone like Rob, a successful local businessman, who has always defended the club, comes out with something like this, you do wonder if the club is losing touch with its fanbase and reality? Out of interest Rob, when you gave up your box, did the club take strides to try and persuade you to renew by contacting you, offering initiatives or did they just let it go?

Just let it go After 4 years of we will be in the championship promises no negotiation just thankyou and good bye. During this period STFC have lost match day bar and meal revenue , season ticket holder sponsorship, signage and player of the year sponsorship and obviously now box and do they care? It appears not.

It is not that they don't care Jonah, it is that they have not noticed.
These are after all the people who signed off a stadium with ALL the hospitality seats facing a into the sun.
