Aldo your figures are incorrect if 2000 have their tickets reduced by 25% there would need to be an attendance of 2667 to generate the same revenue.

Pretty poor effort by the club in my opinion. They are presented with a golden opportunity to be seen to have an appreciation of what is happening locally and they screw it up completley
People are feeling the pinch now more than anytime in the last 30 years and a realisation of that would have been appreciated.
I won't be going now and i suspect many others will feel the same.

Would have been amazed if the club had reduced prices. We got almost 6500 for the Fulham Carling cup match in 2007. Just hope we can draw a similar crown to boost GT's transfer budget.

Aldo, can you confirm how you pay to watch Shrewsbury? Season ticket or do you pay each game. And how many games a season?

We'll get under 4,000 to this game and will be looking very stupid to be fair. Instead the club could have decreased the prices, got 6,000+ in, a good atmosphere could have been made and made it very intimidating atmosphere.

no one got personal until you did aldo, questioning our attitudes compared to how you happily pay £20 when it seems you have vanished at the mere thought of doing so I don't even know who you are No idea where Gareth got the hunch but i thought i'd play along for the record I've been in touch with the club offering to work one day a week for nothing apart from something I can add to my CV a gap in a CV is just no good, they look at you as if you've been in prison I've done the same at other places too as i mentioned on another thread, it seems there is too much red tape about to even work voluntary these days as i've mentioned my offer was for nothing, but say it was for a few tickets, how would you feel if i came on here bragging that the gate price is ok and criticising someone who is moaning as they cannot afford to pay and it could be a bit cheaper dear o dear

Crikey, has Marcus gone again? Got to be a record approach for the number of times someone has joined B&A and then deleted their account.

I hope they do, as I think you could really offer a great perspective on alot of issues, but you can't have it both ways mate.

Phil - the most recent comparison is £13 as the cheapest tick to Gay Meadow in 2007, and it is now £17 (or £19 on the day) four years later with pretty much flat-lining of wages in between. Interesting stuff, I assume the £13 ticket was in the Wakeman stand at Gay Meadow? Flat-lining of wages, is that the fans or the playing staff?

If you were out of work or getting benefits in 2007 you could watch town for £7.80 It's now £17 This didn't include cup game though

We all agree that we have one of the best supported teams in the lower league. In theory the club keep agreeing with this and saying how great the support is. It would be really good if they would reduce the prices for just one match as a practical gesture of thanks - the friendlies would have been a good opportunity.
I suspect if these had been realistically priced - no-one would be worried about the prices of the Swansea game.
The club just need to realise that actions speak louder than words - so either give us one gesture of good will per season or just shut up and don't bother to tell us how great we are - at least we will know where we stand!!! (or sit even).

The other thing to remember is peoples habits have changed from the old ground. A lot of people (including myself) are season ticket holders now when they werent at the old ground. I was used to pay £x every other week and became habit so a cup game wasnt considered anything extra really.
Whereas now I obviously pay for the season ticket at the outset so dont expect to pay anything else during the season. Cup games are almost a inconvenience because they are considered 'extra' and additionally forking out £17/£19 seems a hell of a lot when you are using to paying £12 per game with a season ticket.
Will be interesting to see how many home and away fans turn up, at the moment its very doubtful I will
