First proper test for the new stadium and policing.
I remember the trouble last time they played at the GM, I also remember they were policed through the centre. No chance of this happening now is there?
First Welsh team to visit us.

Swansea came here and if I recall they had loads of trouble makers in the square ovr the plough Good draw for Town a premiership team at home good chance of winning

If they bring their first team they should show us how the way we try to play, is achieved. If they don't take it seriously, its a good chance to go through and face a united, chelsea etc in round three.

Me too Pilch.
But I do remember the standard of their fans. Make those of Port Vale and Hereford look like pussycats!

The chap commentating on the the League Cup highlights on Sky last night said our win against Derby was the most important for Turner since he rejoined us as manager. How he figured that out I have no idea. Unless Turner himself said something like that, I dunno. But I doubt he did...

Completely underwhelmed.
Plenty of Salop fans have stood on the terrace at the Vetch. To suggest it is a " dream" tie is about as random and ill informed as you can get.
Fair play to Swansea for their success and they play a decent brand of football and I am really happy for them, but they are hardly a big draw.

Indeed. While it is not the 'dream' tie we could have hoped for - it is actually one that we could win particularly if we play like we did on Tuesday and we don't 'freeze' at home.
Hope it's not on TV - we never play well when it is!!!

Good if the likes of Graham, Sinclair, Lita etc play..... If reserves? s**t. Can't see why. It's a decent draw but only because we are playing at home and with swansea focusing on the league we have a good chance of progressing. It's hardly the glamour tie that we could have got. The players that you mentioned are hardly going to bring extra fans through the turnstiles so surely we want them to play the reserves.

Realistically a glamour tie was either Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa or Liverpool so we had a small chance really. At least it's a premiership team and we're at home, I'll be there. A good chance of winning and draw a United/Chelsea in the next round.

Just no pleasing some people , town get a great result @ Derby then get drawn @ home against a side who could well play a second XI on the night . Great chance to progress to the 3rd round , where we could land a really big side .

Great chance to progress to the 3rd round , where we could land a really big side . I did not say it was a bad draw. Just not as exciting as Beacon Radio are making out. To suggest it is a " dream draw" is disrespectful to Shrewsbury. If Swansea play their reserves that would be brilliant but I was always under the impression that only the big clubs field a second eleven in the Carling Cup. For Swansea, despite the obvious desire to keep their premiership safety the Carling Cup is their best chance of silverware, now they no longer play in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
