GT could do what he did with Daniel O’Donnell at the start of the season by offering him a 6 month deal to prove himself.

Well in an earlier tweet he said that he thought he (Robinson) had it bad at Shrewsbury, XXX is going to get slated. Maybe he was talking about Leslie moving to Hereford?

Martin, give the lad a break, all he needs is a bit of confidence that a run of a dozen games will give him.
Wonder if anyone knows the most consecutive Leslie has started over the years.

Hmm, Turner obviously thinks he can unlock his potential.

2005/06 - 1 Sub Appearance 2006/07 - 1 Start – 5 Sub Appearances 2007/08 – 13 starts – 7 Sub appearances (1 goal) 2008/09 – 13 Starts – 16 sub appearances (0 goals) 2009/10 – 21 Starts – 13 sub appearances (6 goals) 2010/11 – 10 Starts – 10 sub appearances (1 goal) Total at the town 59 starts, 51 sub appearances – 8 goals Now to be fair anyone getting 21 starts in a season (last year) and another 20 appearances this season) has had more than enough chances to get his “confidence up” and prove he can regularly be relied on… fact is three managers have seen him has little more than a fringe player, who all three have given chances too to kick on too… none of which he’s taken.
Crap player, that’s would be harsh, but what we need going forward, a player no longer considered a youth prospect, who has continuely turned in average perfoamcnes (he was decent for a small streach in 2009/10)?
No.
Sort of player the move away form the club would suit both parties

A huge stretch from Robinson's tweet that is. Could be a contract somewhere else. Could be his birthday, he might have got engaged. More likely, he just won some competition on FIFA.

Wonder if anyone knows the most consecutive Leslie has started over the years. i am in agreement!! he is the only player this season to score against a premiership side and when he has played well, he has proved he has the ability. Like Grandison, he is a confidence player and maybe gt has the ability to bring that confidence out.

The thing we all need to remember if that by the start of August Turner will need a squad of 20 players within a budget set by RW. Some of those players will not be regular first team players but they will be essential for the push towards promotion. If a player is capable of playing in more than one position that will surely be a benefit.
As for Leslie on Friday night he did more attacking in 15 minutes than the two other central midfielders did in the whole game.

It really doesn't help when he is dropped for 15 games after one off day though does it?

Name 5 good games Leslie as had? I could, but what would be the point? you would no doubt disagree as you dont think he has had 1 good game for us. Leslie has had no consistancy of managment or position and hasnt had what i would consider a decent run in the team. Dispite that, he has managed goals in around 10% of his entire career from midfield(or 12 from 73 starts if i was being charitable). He also has 4 assists in the league this season, the same as bradshaw and jon taylor combined. is that not worth a years contract ?rather than seeing a player with potential that we have produced , go somewhere else , and score against us next season? i could be wrong, at times i think maybe he wont make it. but he isnt rubbish or garbage to be " dumped". He has talent, he is one of ours and i still think he deserves a chance.

Name 5 good games Leslie as had? By the sound of it he had some pretty decent games whilst on loan at the bulls, I seem to remember reading that he was man of the match in a couple of them, wasn't one the chesterfield game?

It would be interesting to get the opinion of someone who has seen him play midfield in the reserves. Where's Bizzy?
The one game I saw him in he ran the midfield.

When Peters was manager he said Leslie was technically very good, but didn't react too well if he made a mistake in games, and let a poor pass or missed scoring chance get to him
Not sure if that's necessarily something he can get over, but would imagine being told he was going to get a run of games in the side might help.
Certainly adaptable and could play a number of positions - so perhaps a good option as a squad player
