I was sad he was given a hard time tonight it certainly didnt put him off at all My only complaint about Jake is that he didnt seem to work as hard for us as he did for Torquay this season. The way he tracked back was amazing maybe we didn't want him to do that A good player,a mess up over the contract I wish him all the best for next season ..maybe in a higher league

Never really understand a boo. Just seems to spur players on, especially someone like Jake. Seemed to die down in second half, poss no surprise as he was getting booed less.

He didn't punish Grandison tonight. And Grandison was begging to be punished. But we made him surplus to requirements without replacing him. Our mistake.

Thought he made a meal of that Sharps challenge which upset a few players and fans. But I did feel sorry for him, what if Turner decides to offer him a new contract now, I reckon he'd love to stay but the fans seemed to make their point. He was clearly motivated but looking at his performance as a neutral he was very wasteful, shooting from stupid angles when there was better placed team mates. His defensive work was fantastic though. Not sure I saw much in him we didn't see when he was our player though.

Think he's a very good player at this level, but inconsistent and gives the impression he turns it on when he fancies it.
Obviously, he's going to fancy a two-legged semi against the club that told him he was surplus to requirements.
Anyone swap Robinson for Collins, or even Wroe now, though?

There's more chance of Turner offering me a contract.

Thought he made a meal of that Sharps challenge which upset a few players and fans. watched the game on telly and was disgusted by robinsons play acting in that instance. i couldnt persuade my university union to turn on the sound so couldnt hear the crowds reaction to it. (i was the only one in there who was watching - also when a few people saw who was playing they scoffed, then saw me in my shirt and looked quite embarrassed!) i can understand him being fired up for the game and even wanting to score. he is a football player and has perhaps got points still to prove to us. but that example of play acting to get sharps a card was terrible especially considering after him playing in the final i assume he's got to come back and train with our players.

I don't really understand the stick he gets. Seems a nice enough fella - especially when it comes to the family side of the club I.e signing autographs and talking to the kids etc

Both? How about Grandison? just Collins. (I'm not a fan tbh). Ultimately, we need a proven 20+ goals a season striker. We've messed about with the front two all season and continued messing with it tonight. Who, currently is going to get us 20+ goals a season??

It is a funny one really. At the end of the season he has not been outscored for Shrewsbury goals by Collins, Bradshaw or Harrold

I'm not sure I ever saw Jake Robinson work as hard for us as he has in all three of the games he has played against us this season. This may be my fading memory but can't help feeling that if he had he could have had a more significant impact on our season and would not even have been considered as a makeweight in the Wroe deal.

Laugh as much as you like Bobby but was he or was he not the best STFC player on the pitch over the two legs? So why is he playing for Torquay then? The lad has loads of talent ,maybe difficult but thats for the manager to sort. GT failed

As I said in my original post, I'm not denying that Robinson has the ability, and can put in good performances when he can be bothered. The three times he's played against us this season have been examples of games he can be bothered in, for obvious reasons. What I was laughing at was your assertion that he was a consistent threat, when clearly he's the opposite of that. Even in games where he's scored goals for us this season I felt his all-round performance sometimes left a lot to be desired.
It's got to be remembered that the only reason he was loaned out to Torquay was due to his pretty poor form over the winter months. Maybe you're right that it was a failing on Turner's part, but maybe questions should be asked of Robinson's commitment and desire as well. I have no malice towards Robinson, he seems like a nice enough guy, and I wish him well wherever he ends up. But I don't think a reactionary mood of 'we should never have sold Robinson,' is correct, even though he has made us look like mugs in the games against us.

Don't blame Jake.. he was just doing what any professional would do.. play football to the best of his ability. He was put in a difficult situation and our club is the one to blame. No.clause in his contract! Unbelievable.

I thought Robinson conducted himself excellently in both legs.
He also had two decent games.
Our loss.

Not the lads fault but he clearly has/had no future here so had to move on. Our balls up that we never put the clause in to stop him playing against us. Good luck to him wherever he is next season.

Anybody else think that Robinson could have done better with that ball across the box in the first half which he failed to make contact with? Looked to my like he didn't really want to get his toe on the end of it...he almost pulled out of it. Could be over-analysing though.
Bottom line is all that's gone on re his being able to play against us isn't his fault at all - given the circumstances, what else was he supposed to do?
Interesting stat from TBH above though.....
