You have to hand it to them, thoroughly deserved.

Will be interesting to see how Telford do in the Blue Square Prem, especially if they stay part-time. Altrincham stayed part time and struggled for a few seasons before being relegated this time. Playing against full time pros every week is very difficult. Hope Telford do better and congratulations to them.

Well done Telford - when you think where they were 7 short years ago that is a monumental achievement. One thing I found really strange today was that loads of Telford fans left well before the trophy was awarded. I asked one why he was going and he said "To beat the traffic" Probably the legions of plastic Wolves fans in Telford who decided to jump on the bandwagon for the day... You are right it is a monumental achievement, tbh I always did think they would make it back to the Conference, but certainly not in such a short timescale. Next year will be interesting, up until now they have been a big fish in a small pond, maybe not so the case anymore. It will demonstrate just how much they have achieved when the likes of Wrexham, Lincoln, Stockport Cambridge and maybe even Luton visit the Bucks Head next season. Having said that whilst some consolidation will certainly be needed I can see them at the sharp end before too long. Telford are well run with a dedicated fanbase and I think Conference, whilst a great achievement, is not the target. Rivalries aside it would be great to have two Shropshire teams in the FL.

Well done to Telford! Don't understand why they don't have the Final at a neutral ground though? Too difficult - not time to wait until you know who is in it, and it could end up with a tiny crowd

Well done Why the Tinpot love in ? Please go bust again and end up in the west midland league . I think it's good to have rivals who are genuinely local and am happy for TFC to be successful so that it means more when we beat them.

Well done Why the Tinpot love in ? Please go bust again and end up in the west midland league . Disagree with this completely, i hope they end up in the 6th division of the Telford Sunday League, where they belong. Cannot be two faced about this, i friggin hate 'em, and that boring, squeaky voiced dwarf of a manager. Well done Tinpot my arse.

Agent Shaw, it's time to go behind enemy lines once again.
If it were anyone else, I'd admire their 'bounceback-ability', as it is I'm dreading them getting to League Two and embarrassing us like they did in the Conference season.

What a lily-livered excuse for a bunch of football fans. Our closest geographical rivals win promotion to the division one below ours, and we extend our warmest congratulations??? Where's the bile and vitriol of which all decent local rivalries are made of? These overspill upstarts are encroaching on our patch. Kids born in Wellington and Leegomery might choose to follow Salop if Telford are playing well down the pyramid, but more likely to go for the Duck's Shed lot now. I'm with Kuffdam and BB - **** off Telford

I see that the leader of the council says the council wants to get involved in the celebrations. Maybe an open top bus ride around the town. What for, they came second to a bunch of part time coal miners, even though they have probably the biggest budget in their league. Some of you have short memories; remember the banners over the M54 when we came back from Wembley after our defeat to Gillingham. Love the neighbour, no chance. May they drown in a crock of their own s**te.

Thing is I never really saw them as rivals until we ended up into the conference. Then they were quite annoying for one season & then they disappeared again. So I don't see them as bitter rivals. In fact, I rarely think about them at all and to be honest I don't see Telford as being in Shropshire. They have, however, done a good job of getting themselves back to where they started.

i agree **** 'em... they hate us... remember that pikey telford fan turned up at exeter great escape in an exeter shirt and telfod hat... **** !
they're a joke, its only a few years ago they were getting crowds of 600.... and how come when they were reborn as a new club they were able to enter the pramid at such a high level??? if i went to the fa and said i wanna make a new club, they'd so ok chap, start off in the shropshire league and make your way up... people go on about andy shaw, but surely he's the best thing that ever happened to them??? he payed for the redevelopment of the ground , went, then the new club got a sparkly new ground free of charge....??

Credit where it's due - they have done well. I must admit though, that listening to interviews on Shroppie over the season, Sinton even manages to make Rob Smith and Larry Chambers seem interesting, by comparison.

Another great post from ShrewsAce. It's embarrassing really - why are people bending over backwards (or should that be forwards?) to congratulate our biggest rivals and, frankly, a pretty horrible football club?

I was almost sick when I read some of these messages. Do you think T*****d would congratulate us on promotion? - b******s would they! They hate us and the feeling is more than reciprocated. I never, ever want to repeat those horrific nights when they turned us over. Surely, our lowest ebb. That disgusting blot on the Shropshire landscape is growing very quickly and there’s no reason why they can't achieve league football in the near future, winning over the younger fans in the catchment area that would ordinarily come and swell the Town ranks. And if they pass us on the way up, they will take great pleasure in taking the p**s. The scum can crash and burn again for all I care.

Good to see that joining Me, Kuffdam and Shrewsace we have Middle East Shrew, the good Doctor and Hankmaloysenior, all united in our feelings for AFC Tinpot. Does'nt one of our favourite songs end with the chorus, "we hate Telford, we hate Telford." If they disappeared into oblivion would their fans travel to support the one remaining senior club in our county, Shropshire. WTF. More like they would hot foot it to support Wanky Wanky Wanderers or the Boneheads of Brum.

would the real Shrewsbury Town supporters please stand up?
Does no one remember a certain banner that Telford fans greeted us with on the motorway back from Wembley? Something along the lines of 'Same old useless inbred sh*t'
I don't get the moronic hatred for a backwater nothing town 30 miles down the A49 but such a loving, almost older/younger brother like relationship with a Wolverhampton overspill that is frankly, a sh*thole.
Makes me laugh.
I'd go as far as to say this forum is so out of touch with real Shrewsbury fans and only represents a wannabe elitist few. The kind that base their true support on how many replica Shrewsbury shirts they have.
You're a joke

On friday night I can't wait to sign up to 'Bucks banter' or a sub-forum off the Wolves fan site or wherever it is they get together and type away with their six fingers, and see what condolences they offer us when we're resigned to another season in league two. I bet they'll cry us a river...

Feedo Gnasher and Ned discuss their delight at seeing local rivals Telford promoted. "A great game to listen to", remarks Feedo. "I agree, old chap! Very pleased for them" replies Ned.
