Clearly not 100% before the game and doubtful a muscle injury will be ok for Friday particularly as he's aggravated it.Oxygen tent anyone because our Caravan/Canavan looks like it's lost a wheel!

What is it with play-offs and key players getting injured. Davies in 2007 and now Sharps this season

Would rather see Goldson than Canavan.

I fear that the loss of Sharps has probably finished our chances of progressing.
Twice he's been missing and twice we've performed very poorly. First at home to Bury and now here.
If he's missing for the 2nd leg and the Final (if we get there) I reckon it's big trouble.
Canavan was at fault for the 1st goal and looked unconvincing, Goldson was out of his depth against Bury, and I can't even contemplate the thought of Grandison in central defence!

Would rather see Goldson than Canavan. No thanks. Had a stinker v Bury. Sharps is our leader in defence and it falls apart when he's not playing. I just hope that he's fit for Friday but the signs aren't good

Did Raven used to play centre back?
If he's fit Id prefer him there and keep Jermaine at right back (yeah ironic considering Ive slated him in another thread but dont think we have any other options).
Biggest problem for me is without Sharps there is no talking or leadership. There was a corner or free kick yesterday where they had a close up of the town area and none of our players were talking, just standing around and there Torquay players unmarked.
If our starting back 4 is the same as what it was yesterday (once Sharps went off) then I really cant see us progressing as we wont keep a clean sheet.

Let's be honest if Sharps isn't fit it's going to be a major blow to us - any other player and we have reasonable cover, but sharps ability and experience aren't shared by the potential replacements.

When GT said pre match that there was a slight doubt about a player I feared that it was someone important. Before he went off he looked to be in trouble. It was a big ask for Canavan and him and SCS being left footed did not help the balance. I am probably in a minority but I thought SCS and Canavan did get better as the game went on and I cant see too many other decent options for Friday

If Raven's fit for Friday it would be a big boost. Would certainly give us more options.

More options and more experience. Sharpes is a big miss not only on performances alone but also his experience and perhaps most importantly his leadership qualities.

Agreed but there is no way that a bunch of professional footballers should collapse as a unit like ours did when Sharpes went off yesterday. It was pathetic.

If Raven is fit, I would stick him at CB and put Lomax at RB.

i'd stick with Canavan. not good yest but not got a lot else, and he has a few good games. Plus a week of sorting it out with SCS. raven back would be vital though with no Sharps

Conner straight away in his place or the other option is pop Grandison in the middle with Sherriff and then pop maybe Danny Taylor on the right back position

Smith Wright - Sherriff - Grandison - Sadler Taylor - Wroe - Mcintyre - Ainsworth Bradshaw - Harrold You are going to drop David Davies & play Wright at full back? Bit surprised at some of the formations and players been thrown in here. Surely, it's generally a good idea to play players in positions they are familiar with and so that everyone knows what they are doing. If Sharpes and Raven are out we don't have to many serious options defensively so I'd be surprised if we don't end up something like this. Smith Grandison, Canavan, Sheriff, Sadler Taylor, Wroe, Davies, Wright Harrold, Bradshaw though you could make a reasonable argument for playing Ainsworth in place of either Taylor or Bradshaw.

read my above comments and id stick mcintyre in simplyto get us a defensive mifielder who doesnt mind sticking a foot in and getting a tackle in to push us forward. plus remember his heroics 2 years ago

Glad GT is the manager based on some of the suggestions above!
Apart from letting the ball go over his head soon after coming off the bench, I didn't see Canavan do much wrong. One big thing for the team though is that Canavan means two left footed players in the middle. This probably didn't help Grandison as the only right footer in the back four.

Still puzzled that you'd drop Davies at this stage for McIntyre. What he did two years ago seems to me to be irrelevant and he's barely played in the second half of the season.
