A very good keeper but that piece makes him look like a very sad, bitter man. You'd have thought he would have got over that by now. Not surprising that he totally overlooks the fact that Aldershot were no better than us in that final and the fact that he didn't get anywhere near any of the three successful penalties at Stoke. I'm sure he couldn't care less what we think but I'd have thought he would have been celebrating rather than taking time out to express his desire to see us lose on penalties in the final.

We'll leave Wycombe Wanderers in our vapour trial Pilch.
But I agree they are comments that don't raise Bull above the mediocre.

Would like to know if the 'still had half an hour to score' comment would have been the same if that goal was against wycombe?

He's bitter, but I'm not surprised.
I'm loving the fact that we are in the play-offs and Gillingham aren't after they beat us. And even happier that Port Vale fell away after their lap of honour when the beat us when they were top if the league. It's all part and parcel of football. The only difference is that he's a player, but he's still entitled to his opinion.

Sounds more like a fan than a professional. Hopefully we can give him some stick when Wigglesworth Wanderers visit the Meadow in League 1.
Bit rich for a newspaper to be moaning about the FL Show focusing on the obvious highlight of the promotion battle between us. Don't know a good story when they see one.
Just as we have to accept the outcome, injustice and all, so they'll have to accept that their name will forever be associated in our history with that incident. That's football chaps, get over it.

In fairness it is a local newspaper so you can see why they might be a little annoyed that the Football League show didn't give them credit for the promotion. In recent weeks they have beaten Bury and Chesterfield, which is something Town haven't managed this season. And goalkeepers have always been a bit nuts!

Wycombe did not beat Chesterfield. They lost 2-1 and 4-1. It would also have been interesting to see if we had beaten Bury in those circumstances ie. Bury already promoted and by all accounts their players celebrating for 3 days without training until the Thursday prior to the match.

What a good job we don't care a fig what he thinks. Wycombe went up with not just a dodgy decision but a completely wrong one and they know it - let's hope like Gillingham they come straight back down again.

Not a lot really (points wise it looks pretty similar to ours) but it seems they really did get the rub of the green when it came to decisions by officials.

I didn’t think there was much wrong with it myself until I read this... "The icing on the cake would be them losing in the final on penalties." What is it with the world today? Can’t folk just enjoy the success they've had without wishing owt bad on others. Considering how they went up you’d think they’d be a little humble. That is bitter. What a t**t.

If Bull had the tenth of the brain capacity of Scot Howie he may have been able to do exactly what Scot did and study the penalties taken in the previous play off semi-final they played against hereford, in our case the shoot out against Barnet. I think he's stayed so bitter about this over the years because not only was prooved to be the worse keeper on the day, Howie showed him up for being the dunce that he is.
Doesn't change the fact that Wycombe have gone up on the back of a very poor decision from another dunce Wigglesworth.

That is a fair article.
We would have beaten Wycombe had Jon Taylor not skied a great late chance.
and as a young player we did pee on his parade.

Didn't Strevens, who scored one of Wycombe's goal, give away a Barnet penalty in the semi final that year?

Journo "So I bet it would be the icing ont he cake if Shrewsbury lost the final on penalties"
Bull "Ha, ha, ha, yeah, suppose so"

Wanderers continue to get little credit for their remarkable campaign with the BBC football League Show preferring to focus on the infamous 'phantom goal' at Shrewsbury in March.
But Bull said: "Shrewsbury still had half an hour to come back. It wasn't like it was an injury time goal."
In which case, he won't mind if Wycombe start every game of their League One campaign 1-0 down, after all, they've got 90 minutes to come back.
Hope we triumph in the play offs and condemn them to relegation back to the basement next season.
Historically, Wycombe are a non-league side and they've obviously got to big for their boots.
Oh and Nikki Bull? Sounds like the name of a Daily Star page 3 girl.
