Hes starting to remind me of that Tope we had on loan, looked good in first few games but slowly and surely he's going downhill.
The thing that is noticeable for me is how much space he gives players, he backs off so much and is almost lethargic in closing down, trying to block etc.
One thing I would say is he clearly is a better player when Sharps is on the pitch. When he had his first few games and was going on maurading runs he had Sharps to cover him, SCS doesnt do the same.

Poor last night but not alone in that a talented player who will come good Hmmmmm, not so sure about that - he's 20yrs old, has cut his teeth at a Championship club and as I keep saying......neither manager nor player is sure of his best position and that is the telling factor, he's not a teenager in the youth ranks but a first team squad member who still doesn't know his best starting position, a hell of a gamble to play him somewhere he'd never played before joining us. His inexperience in appealing for a throw in yesterday instead of playing the attacker and ball cost us dearly in my opinion, ultimately allowing Robinson to get the ball across and leading to the goal, a goal which incidentally our keeper should've dealt with with consummate ease, beaten at his near post with a shot that lacked anything but direction really was poor. Step overs and all that mullarkey may be exciting for some to watch but before that you have to be able to master the basics and for starters learning how to take a decent throw in. I hope I'm wrong but that 2year+ contract is looking like an awfully long one to honour

Yesterday he was definitely the stand out worst player for us, slow, immobile and clumsy but worst of all unfit, inexcusable for a pro footballer, especially at this stage of the season. I beg to differ there were at least 5 players worse than him last night and maybe only 1 better than him Sadler.

Talking of Sadler Ed, I just wonder how fit he is after that first half stretch to put the ball out for a corner, certainly moving a little gingerly thereafter - certainly hope he recovers in time for Friday.

Common sense dictates that you show Robinson down the outside, on his left foot.
With Sharps by his side he looks better, maybe because he mops up his mistakes or maybe because he talks him through the game. I thought he started pretty well and reasonably confidently, but then things seemed to get on top of him. And yes his throw-ins are shocking! No point picking on one player though, especially when we might need him in 5 days time.

His lack of fitness can't be disputed though, was clearly blowing early on in the match.

In hindsight for me he should have been moved to centre half when Sharps went off....Caravan looks too lightweight for a centrehalf.

Good grief what a reaction. For sure like most of the team he didnt play well but to write him off seems harsh.

In games like this all would have preferred Raven but he was injured...Grandison can give a threat going forward and certainly has pace, he needs to gain experience to add to the ability he has and this will not happen over night...I think you will think far better of him when he has had a season with us.
Unfortunately we are going into the crucial game of the season where it is win or bust and we will need a major effort from everyone, in closing down getting forward and just not letting Torquay have time on the ball...if we can get an early goal it will be game on ....lets support all the young lads like Canavan,Grandison, Taylor and Bradshaw...the whole team is desperate to win and criticising them at this stage produces nothing of worth

Personally I really don't think Grandison was any worse than most of the rest of them.
Singling him out seems unfair.

He's 20 yrs old, not played in many games and playing in an unfamiliar position. No idea whether the guy will make the grade eventually but let's give him a bit of support. (I have no idea why he's allowed to take throw ins though).

give tha young lad a chance - was constantly booed every time he touched the ball by Torquay fans who were trying to get him sent off again, can't have helped his performance. looks good going forward i think.

First time I've seen Grandison. First half Torquay attacked constantly down the left, which was clearly a plan against him so no wonder he was on show. His positioning was not good, but he can learn that. Pace was there and won lots of headers and clearances in the box. Yes, he gave Robinson too much space for the 2nd goal, but then no one picked up Zebroski. I don't think he made a tackle in anger, probably due to the sending off.
Not sure what was going on with the thrown ins. The amount of times Taylor delayed a short throw to wait for what I thought would be a big one from Grandison, was pretty annoying.
My feeling was it wasn't the best game to judge the lad in.

Thought he was pretty good up to the Torquay first goal, then straight away he lost the ball doing skill and he didn't look the same player for the rest of the game.
