Until Pilch pointed it out I didn't realise this was an anti Manchester United thread. i didn't say it was either i just pointed out to those disappointed lads that if they cast their minds back to the 2009 final, it was more a case that one side played so much better than the other before yesterday game it was all about their formidable home record this season in the champions league, won every game now its a case of they didnt have a chance

in case you didn't notice the top 4 now qualify sometimes the top 5

I think it best to look at the bigger picture... Here you go... German Champions Winner (22) (record): 1931–32, 1968–69, 1971–72, 1972–73, 1973–74, 1979–80, 1980–81, 1984–85, 1985–86, 1986–87, 1988–89, 1989–90, 1993–94, 1996–97, 1998–99, 1999–2000, 2000–01, 2002–03, 2004–05, 2005–06, 2007–08, 2009–10. DFB-Pokal Winner (15) (record): 1957, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1971, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1998, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010 If you want to win something in Germany the best place to be is Bayern. I think that's pretty clear. I'm sure Bayern will be winning the league again sometime soon. You wouldn't say that with too much confidence about either Stuttgart or Wolfsburg... Its just how things seem to happen here. Look at Gomez. Wins the league with Stuttgart and then does what? Joins Bayern.

Whether or not its the top four or whatever that qualify I just think its daft that a side that hasn't won their domestic title since the 50's is competing in it...

it was the 1931 stats and 70s/80s dominance you threw in that made all the difference
if i was a footballer and you were my agent and i wanted to win a domestic league i've have to choose between bayern, juventus, liverpool, st ettiene
lets just hope i didnt want european football the following season ;-)

Bayern are clearly the biggest and most decorated German club, even without recent dominance they've got brilliant players such as Lahm, Ribery and Robben who would walk into most sides in the world, least of all the other sides in Germany. Incidentally Bayern managed to knock out United last year and I know which German team looked like a class European side and which team looked like a mid table outfit, and this isn't just taking the end result into consideration.
Pilch, I know you would like us to all bow down to the quality of this Manchester team and of course they played well last night but fact remains they were playing a team who just are not semi-final standard. Of course you can only beat what's put in front of you but that doesn't mean United haven't had a kind passage through to the final, coupled with home advantage in every round.

Feedo Gnasher - possibly the most bland poster in B&A history? I can't even be bothered to read his offerings these days; mundane s**te that frequently relates to Manchester United and a cringeworthy avatar to boot.
If he were a football stadium, he'd be the New Meadow

presuming schalke don't bother turning up at old trafford and united actually go on to do the unthinkable i've prepared you 10 excuses for after the final 1. It was a bit unfair that it was played at uniteds home ground 2. they wouldn't have won if it was played in spain 3. if the real Real had turned up it would have been a different story 4. united cheated 5. rooney should have been sent off 6. the ref might as well put a red kit on 7. they shouldnt have even been in it, its the CHAMPIONS league 8. come back when you have won 5 9. i only saw 10 minutes 10. whats this got to do with shrewsbury town

I may have had disagreements with dozens upon dozens of my fellow members but I often respect my adversary and can understand what they bring to the table. Feedo Gnasher's posts serve only as a cure for insomniacs. Even his camp username p**ses me off!
