I could swear that it was a Sadler Own Goal? Cracker of one at that. But the BBC have it down that Lowe(!) scored in his 8th game in a row?

The scoreboard said Sadler OG, GT said Sadler OG, all the Bury lot in the pressbox said it was Lowe, I thought it was Sadler OG.
Hmm, I am going for a Sadler OG

Lowe celebrated as if he had scored fooled me if he didn't anyway

Lowe celebrated as if he had scored fooled me if he didn't anyway I think that was the point Pilch - he wanted the record for consecutive goals. He didn't celebrate at all until he realised it was an OG, then massively over-celebrated, i assume to convince everyone that it was him. He wasn't within 2 yards of it.

It flicked off his head then sadler added the power to a shot already on target HES MAKING HISTORY HES MAKING HISTORY started against shrews 7 in 7 came against crewe (another former club) broke the record v shrews LEGEND Perhaps you would like to furnish us with this new video evidence because the BBC replay clearly shows that if Lowe's header??? had not been diverted by Sadler it would have gone out for a throw in on the opposite side. Sitting in Block two definitely an own goal I'm afraid. Lowe may not have realised it needed assistance and celebrated definitely in error.

Had a fiver on Lowe to score during the game and bookies paid up on the bet - much to my surprise as I thought it was an o.g.

The TV evidence is clear as day - own goal. Nothing against Lowe but the fella he shares the record with doesn't deserve to lose out to an own goal. Tough- Lowe will have to start again at zero.

Just seen the goal again for the first time since Tuesday. If I were on the dubious goal panel (if such a thing exists?) that would be 10% Lowe 90% Sadler. Had the Bury player in front of Sadler been anyone other than Lowe that would have gone down as an OG without a shadow of doubt, any right minded person could see that. In fact any right minded person would be embarassed to even claim it...

I would be amazed if it stands as Lowe's goal.

I like Ryan Lowe but if he`s any sort of man he`ll come out and admit it wasn`t his goal. Sky Sports News are reporting he`s now scored in 9 consecutive games after today.

I have emailed the Beeb and SSN urging them to look closely at this goal and to right the wrong that it is an o.g. and therefore no club record .

So at the end of the day is it officially Lowe's goal or not? Who cares? The guy who shared the record. Not fair on him to be written out of Bury's record books by an own goal. Still, nice to see Ryan starting from scratch at Hereford. Might get the record for himself this time.

So at the end of the day is it officially Lowe's goal or not? Who cares? I care, as should any right minded person. If lowe had dived in the penalty box or knocked the ball in with his hand what would people be saying then. Claiming a goal which you had little influence over is just as bad IMO.
