Season 1
11/10/2008
STFC 1-2 Port Vale
Att: 7,162 (989 away)
17/01/2009
Port Vale 1-1 STFC
Att: 7.068 (1,408 away)
Season 2
STFC 0-1 PVFC Att: 7.096 (1,155 away)
Port Vale 1-1 Shrewsbury
Att: 8,467 (673 away)
Season 3
Port Vale 1-0 STFC
Att: 8.443 (1,184 away)
STFC 2-2 Port Vale
Att: 6,402 (1,109)
Massive club Vale, they still haven't beaten our away support in these games.
Ours is nothing to brag about, but for the "biggest club in League Two" as claimed by their own fans, their support is a joke!

Erm, PERHAPS you should pay SOME atention to your HOME suporrt??? Speaking of home support, For such a well supported team, ratio-wise yr away support from such a large home nucleus is pretty poor by comparrison to Shrewsbury's based on those figures. Even Hereford, who average 12 at home bought 800-900 up to the N.M All i personally gleamed from yr post was you have 2,000 home fans who cant be arsed to do away games, regardless of where you are in the league or however far you have to travel.

'Bertymax' what you SHOULD have gleamed from my post is the FACT that there were over 2,000 more HOME fans at Vale Park last night than at the greenhouse thingy lastnight! Oh well, you can lead a horse to water and all that! Oh and BEFORE someone posts with 'Port Vale fan attendance mania' a Shrews fan started the thread.....

Some ones bitter about last night. Maybe the fact we can take over and around 2000 to places like Bury, Macc, Crewe and Burton suggests we are capable of taking much more to away games.
To be honest I'm sure the events at your place in season 1, and the fact we hadn't played one another in the league for donkeys, swelled your away following that season. It hasn't been repeated since. Whilst we haven't beaten your 1400, ours have remained consistent, around 1000 every time we've played at yours. I can pretty much guarantee we'll never ever take less than your pathetic 673. Ha.

...at the Vale… It’s really p**sed on their chips that despite giving it this and that they still didn’t sell out their allocation last night. Its hurt them that bless ‘em... So from telling us they are going to sell out, that they could of sold more than the 1,300 they are now turning their attention to the lowest following between the two... Now that is grasping at straws...

No, grasping at straws would be to bring up attendances after your team yet again failed to beat us.
But while we're talking about attendances, I think it was disappointing from both sides to be honest. A few on here were expecting a lot more home fans, as we were expecting a lot more away fans. For some reason, whatever that maybe, a lot of people didn't bother.
For those that did, they witnessed a great game and a cracking atmosphere. That'll do for me.

It's daft really, who how many where? The only POSSIBLE talking point's the fact that we 1,100 on a Tuesday last night, you 1,100 on a Tuesday night, your gate was 6,500, ours was 8,400 but so what? The only REAL interest is places 2 to 7 in the current table? Just WONDERING if we're turning into some kind of a bogey side for you lot? With that in mind see you at a possible sell out Old Trafford in a couple of months time.........

Really sir prized at how quiet Vale fans were last night. Noisy up until we equalised, then you could hear the proverbial church mouse. It probably didn't help that we looked the most likely to score.

Run of the mill game for Vale. A cup final for salop. Is that why 7000 Valiants turned up for the reverse fixture then?

Run of the mill game for Vale. Which is why you'll finish as also rans. Although you could do us a favour and beat Chesterfield and Bury. Bury always implode anyway.

"Really sir prized at how quiet Vale fans were last night."
Is that post directed at a knighted Mr Prized?
Anyway, regarding the "quiet" comment. I thought we generated a cracking atmosphere throughout the game last night, which has been commented on by many listening to Radio Stoke last night.

If the match was played on a Saturday it would have been 7'000 +, Remember Stoke has a bigger population than Shrewsbury and some of our fans come from outside Salop. Who cares who is the bigger club, Bradford is bigger than both of us and look at them.
Results are the key not how big the club is.
