out on loan? The current lot couldn't score in a brothel. Tell me James Collins is better than Jake Robinson, go on.

Collins is better than Robinson. All strikers go through stages when they just cant score but the best strikers are the ones that get into the positions and Collins does that which Robbo doesnt do. For Me Collins and Bradshaw (when fit) are our best strike partnership.

Think Robinson had his faults but would prefer him in the side at the moment as his bit of pace and running off the ball looks better than Collins
Bradshaw bring out injured doesn't help but I still think the Harrold and Robinson combination was our best front two this season
No use moaning about it though as Robinson gone and we got to try and find goals from our existing strikers

I'm yet to see Collins have a good game. He can't seem to header, always seems to look to pass to the wings than to turn run and shoot (even when he has space) and the last straw was when he bottled the shot and then put an awful pass into harrold!

I was at Accy and he had a good game and although he hasnt made a huge impact I think at 20 years of age hes got a very bright future and we should keep persisting because its only a matter of time till he scores.

Robinson comes across as an arrogant little sod who doesn't appear to be a team player. Agree that we don't have a real, clinical finisher, Collins was shocking tonight.

Because he's a complete nob? I also imagine quite disruptive in the dressing room. Notice team spirit/morale goes up after he leaves?? Then 4 straight wins...

Collins finishing was abysmal but don't let that drag you down into saying the rest of his game is, being offside too much apart, his turns, lays off, holding up and determination are a good standard, he brings others in too play like harrold but in addition brilliantly gets into space and scoring opportunities.. He just can't finish then

It's the lack of options up front that is the main concern - Harrold and Collins are too similar and Ainsworth isn't an out and out striker
Really don't get this idea Robinson is disruptive influence - if Turner can't deal with someone who gets bit narky after being dropped we have problems - although it might explain why he sticks with Wright despite him bring poor for last few games.

Personally I thought the Harrold Robinson partnership was pretty good, but then it started to go wrong and both got dropped, then off field matters became apparent due to robinson's lack of professionalism.
tonight i didn't think collins had a particularly good game, that's not to say he's a bad player, but tonight he wasn't great. i thought a change up front was needed and earlier than it happened.
to be honest i'd have liked to see van der brook - to be fair we've tried so many other partnerships this season why not! (i think we've tried far too many partnerships this season and in my opinion it's not been helpful in building a proper one)

Robinson. What we are missing. The Facts.
For us he failed to score in all games against top half table teams.
For Torquay equally. His two goals have been against Hereford and a sliding Cheltenham. Since his debut for them he has been substituted in all games.

For me its not about Robinson, its about Bradshaw, his raw ability is what need playing off Harrold....

Robinson - 11 goals this season - 33 appearances - ratio 0.33 Collins - 7 goals this season - 23 appearances - ratio 0.30
I think Collins brings more to the team in terms of work rate, hold up play and ability to link up the team.

I think most would agree Ant, but Collins is not in form in any shape...
The most worring thing is his body language... he working hard no doubt and takes up some good posisions, and makes some cracking runs for the midfield... but at the end of the day as a forward its goals you need.... and with at least two chances last night he had it was not good enoough
He will start again at the weekend no doubt, but there is real pressure on him when Bradders gets fit, or even Elder as if this run continue GT will have to be fair and try something else.

He's started once in the last few weeks.
Pressure on him? Yes, undoubtedly.
I agree that he will start on Saturday and for me that is the right decision.

Best striker is at the club, Lionel Ainsworth. Just a shame he doesn't show it enough like at Lincoln

Imo Our best striker is Bradshaw we are missing his workrate so much
I think Harold needs to work so much harder off the ball than he does Not sure why Collins misses so many sitters
I'm still glad we got rid of robinson He was annoying me lol

Wouldn't be the first time we've let a decent centre forward go on loan (i.e Constable) i wonder if Turner is managing Robinson any better than Simpson did with Constable

the most important thing is attitude and it seems that Robinsons stank by all accounts. He isnt even the best striker at torquay!

Honestly don't think any of our strikers are good enough for League One or promotion. Harrold's a big lad and does his role well, but hes never going to get more than 10 goals a season. Collins IMO is not up to it, works hard, but always wants to do the fancy stuff. Also on last nights evidence he's not up to much in front of goal. Bradshaw has potential but its no good asking him to score us the goals to get us out of this league, because he's not the man. Works hard, but again the end product really isn't there. Haven't seen anything from VDB to suggest he's a striker and then theres Elder, who could come back a better player, but who knows??
Number one priority for next season is a natural goalscorer. Everybody wants one, but fortunately for us we have the money to go and get one. For me it needs to be somebody with expirience. Our front line has lacked a leader, or someone with a bit of know how (e.g. Lester, Lowe type player) since Holt left.
Please GT and RW spend some money on a goalscorer in the summer!

Our front line has lacked a leader, or someone with a bit of know how (e.g. Lester, Lowe type player) since Holt left. Like Jamie Cureton? Not having a go, just making the point that you never know what you'll get. Collins is struggling a bit but let's remember he's only 20 and has a good pedigree. For me, it's important we don't get impatient with the young players. Whatever we might expect from the club, we can't load that burden onto players that have barely a handful of first team games' experience (sometimes less than that). We're not throwing the kitchen sink at it remember Oh, and Robinson isn't the answer. Great on his day, but that's usually at home against a lesser team - probably when the weather's warm too.
