Its funny on their message board now. It seems they’ve now dropped any thoughts of getting the 1,300 but the one chap is hopeful they sell another 150 so that at least he can say they brought more here than we there… And it’s not because its midweek as we thought, it’s because of something called the ‘Gannon effect’. So the thousands who are giving it a miss would have been there tonight if Adams were still manager… You have to laugh...

Firstly, calm down. We're talking about numbers of people getting from a to b. Its not life and death, and going off the tone of your post with comments such as "give us the big I am", you're either a very angry child, or a wannabe hooligan...or both.
Secondly. Show me where I said we're bigger and better than you? I said our away followings are impressive, I used figures to back that statement up. If you want my opinion, I think our away followings, on the whole are better than yours at this particular moment, which is backed up by the average figures for away supporters.
Edit - this in response to onthetrain92, not the german shrew fan above.
Oh, and if we're including cup matches in this discussion, we 2700 to Burnley. I wont work out the distances between you and stoke and us and Burnley as a comparison, I'll leave that to you.
Now have a pancake and shut the fu*k up will you.

To be honest I couldn't give two s**ts, put after reading some of the posts made about our followings on both this board and others, you just have to laugh, especially now the excuses are coming

I have to admit I hate it when I see people knocking other teams followings when we still haven't played at their place yet. Its like going on a message board and saying we're going to absolutely hammer you 5-0. You just know you'll end up losing and make yourself look like a right t*t.
Circumstances change, how many of you lot saw the league fixtures at the start of last season and thought, Vale away last game of the season, we'll take f**king thousands there (I know I thought you would). As it ended up you were out of the play offs, managerless, and brought 673. But then the season before you brought 1400 and this season just shy of 1200 on a Tuesday night. Like I said before fans are fickle, lets all just agree that given the right circumstances we're both well capable of taking shed loads to each others grounds, we're also equally capable of bringing next to no one. Its football, sh*t happens.

It's just a bit of banter and something we can't let go by without comment. I'm not really arsed about how many fans go here, there or anywhere and that goes for the vast majority of Town fans too. All this 'bigger' club malarkey...no idea why we see it. However, whenever we come to play the Vale these discussions always come about and we have Vale fans on here talking about their followings compared to Town. So you can't blame us for laughing and taking the wet out of those who have been giving it out here only for them to fall flat on their face. And they've been made to look really daft this time around...

If your management feel like getting off the bus halfway there's a good pub in Hodnet I'd have thought The Loggerheads more appropriate Reg

To be fair none of you are coming out of this thread very well, Shrews or Vale.
We are both well supported clubs, and both sets of fans are very nervous about the game due to the huge impact it could have on our respective seasons. I know I am more nervous than I have been pre-match for a long time.
To keep churning out the "you're knuckle draggers", "you're married to your sister" stuff is making nearly all of you look idiots, with a nod of recognition to the sensible posters from each team.
Let's try to respect the fact that we are both up there approaching the end of the season, and we both clearly regard each other as a tricky opponent or you wouldn't be acting like 6 year olds.
Enjoy the game, let's hope for a Town result, if not, stay calm and carry on, long way to go. Either way, try not to make BOTH sets of supporters come across as retarded mongs.

Dave, despite the fact that you're a knuckle dragger who's married to his sister, thats a very sensible post. Like you say, people need to stay calm, its a football match at the end of the day with women and children watching. Both clubs dont want to be in the paper for the wrong reasons tomorrow.

How apt this game is being played on Pancake Day seeing as the tossers who supposedly follow both clubs will be out in force tonight.

one thing is abundantly clear from the 'we're bigger than you' traded insults: Old Trafford is going to be nowhere near big enough for the Play Off Final if Shrews and Vale both get there!

Us and You have been having some strange results as of late so I would welcome a win but can see it ending up any manner of ways . I would love to send 1300 Vale fans home with their tails between their legs , whimpering as they go . No Offence of course .
