I didn't see that one coming! The hypocrisy of the man is awesome, when week in and out they get soft decisions go their way. Of course its all a carefully designed plan to ensure that the next time Martin Atkinson refs Man U all the 50-50 decisions go their way, as happened with Mark Clattenberg last week. Fergie has made a long and successful career out of intimidating referees, and by and large he's got away with it.

His double standards are breath-taking. How was what Luiz did any worse than what Rooney did at Wigan? The man has no self-awareness at all.
Never mind, I'm sure the FA will crack down on the fact he has called into question the competence and impartiality of the ref.....er

Fergie must be the only manager in history to criticise the ref after a defeat Zzzzz

he's the only referee to do it every time. He's made himself a laughing stock - even though in other respects he's a great manager.

His boring repetitive media comments mean that most people see him as a moaning, whinging git - rather than the most succesful manager of all time.
TBH he is getting boring to listen to these days

When are the Premier League going to start to fine him for continually not speaking the BBC network of reporters?
There was something about this earlier in the season?

The big teams are untouchable and get away with murder. If it was Warnock he'd be fined and banned yet Fergie continuly gets away with it. Also that Rooney elbow if it was your average Joe Bloggs he'd be banned no question

It is just thugish behavour by Fergie. The FA could put a stop to it once and for all if they had the guts to impose a long touchline ban and heavy fine. Say 2 month ban and £500,000 fine. It would really hurt and he would'nt dare intimidate the ref again.

When are the Premier League going to start to fine him for continually not speaking the BBC network of reporters? There was something about this earlier in the season? Don't really mind that so much as when are they going to fine him for his continual criticism of refs! On saturday it was 'refs make decisions and we've got to respect them' despite footage from every angle showing rooney clearly elbowed mccarthy in the head off the ball last night it's suddenly having a go at the ref. ermmmm

This thread is about the manager that has probably had more touchline bans than any other prem manager
Including one for dishing out abuse to clattenburg
Our own manager has just moved dug outs to get nearer the officials ;-)

If United lose, its a thread about Fergy or Phelan moaning about the ref cheating. If United win, Fergy/Phelan are quite happy with the ref cheating. I thought Turner moved to stop the opponents management being too near the linesman and influencing his decisions. Depends how you look at things.

Apparently the fines are so small that multi millionaire SAF would be happy to pay them out of his petty cash.

Sorry, got it wrong - the small fines thing was to do with SAF not talking to the BBC.

He is a hypocrit and he does flaunt the rules by saying such stuff, but he has a point tbh - Martin Atkinson is a shocking ref and the decisions towards the end of that game were poor. But Clatenburg is even worse, yet Fergie says nothing against him.

But as regards Clattenburg, yeah he criticised him when decisions went against Utd but said nothing (or supported him when the boot was on the other foot - ie Spurs, Wigan). That is being a hypocrite isn't it?

I would also add that I don't see why managers shouldn't strongly criticise ref's decisions and performances if they feel agrieved. It's accusations of bias and questioning integrity that are going too far.
