How did everyone think his debut went?
Did OK to me, some nerves at times but got stuck in, only downside for me was Grandison sometimes looked worried about what his team mate was doing rather than himself.

i've nothing personal against him but we previously had 3 clean sheets at home on the run it could have been 6 or 7 tonight at least as it happens we escaped with just our worst performance at home for a decade or so
i would class that as a nightmare debut

Started Ok but had a poor 2nd half. Defence as a unit were very weak tonight. Sharps back in on Saturday.

semed a bit unsure early on as where to be and seemed to be all over the shop, a few nice touches on the ball, not too bad for me.

i would class that as a nightmare debut Sadly have to agree - at fault for the first goal, passing was poor and looked out of his depth, although in fairness Lowe and Bishop are good league to strikers and throwing him in against them perhaps wasn't Turners brightest idea

Not a fanastic debut. And a bit worrying how there strikers were allowed to stand between him and sherriff unmarked allowing for basic balls to be put through the middle to them.

Think he had a poor game but no worse than some of the others like Grandison, Wright, Harrold, Davies, Wroe etc who should know better

Defence fell apart without Sharps. Received little support from his captain (to his left), and Jermaine (to his right). We forget Grandison is also young and inexperiened, the right side of defence was throughly exposed. Thank God Sharps' suspension was only one match

A good prospect for the future but he had a poor game tonight (like most) Not up to scratch at the moment, we really missed Sharps.

Not impressed, a poor debut, looked out of his depth at times and a fish out of water at others, that said there were others too with much more experience who were equally as poor - too much inexperienced youth down the right side of the field tonight and more importantly no leader on the pitch at all.

we escaped with just our worst performance at home for a decade or so oh come on, it's a bad day but not this! Hit the woodwork three times, missed a sitter and had more decent opportunities but defended horrendously at times. A good first 60 mins where they couldn't of argued had it been us in the lead followed by an awful last 30 as expected - heads dropped and nothing falling our way against a clinical and well drilled bury etc! On topic - an awkward time for young goldson tonight, shaky and it spread throughout the others at the back. He will improve I'm sure.

Connor is a good prospect but G.T got it wrong for me I remember Simpson saying that when you do stick young players in for the first time you don't know how they will react. Unfortunately for Connor he has not lived up to expectations but I am sure he will have a bright future although not as bright as some have predicted. Tonights game was a step too far for him and maybe a bit too early in his development

thought he made some decent challenges, but positioning wasn't great.
then again i thought our defence was too easily exposed due to us repeatedly giving the ball away further up. not the best game for him to be introduced to league football

I thought he did ok in difficult circumstances.
His tackling was fine and I disagree with those knocking his distribution, which was no worse than anyone else's.
His marking and positioning were exposed, however, although the fact he had a similarly inexperienced player just outside him in a relatively unfamiliar position probably didn't help.

There was a sense of unease about the defence with them unsure how to accomodate and protect the debutant. It reminded me of Hooman's debut at Darlington last season when he came in because Coughlan was suspended.

For me the biggest problems last night were:
Grandison, not sure he was fully fit, but he gave their right winger so much room which resulted in the first goal.
Midfield were non-existent, I'm afraid based on Saturday and last night Wroe and Davis are not the answer to the long standing central midfield problems.
For me Harrold works hard but rarely actually creates much, however this may be as much down to the players around as to him. I'd have subbed Harrold and Wright rather than Taylor and Collins not that I think it would have made much difference it was too late the damage had been done.

Possibly correct, Grandison had a few runs, but they seemed to stop as the game went on. Although regarding the subs, agree with you on Wright not Taylor but not Harrold. Thought he did ok and was creating chances but Collins for me had a poorish game, not sure how many chances he had but struggling to think of one on target. But yes it was too late.

i struggle to think of a worse game tonight doesnt even come close to darlo last season Yes that was bad, even though I expected us to lose that It kind of hurts more when you are hoping for a decent win and get hammered Yes we were unlucky a couple of times but they were ripping us apart constantly I'm not sure what is wrong with us It's like we are either on or off, if the switch clicks on we are a different team

Thats what I would have done myself, it was a gamble that didnt pay off, just hope it doesnt affect the lad's confidence too much. I think Goldson making his debut alongside SCS didnt help either, SCS is too quiet, whereas Sharps is always vocal and trying to marshall his defence properly, boy did we miss that last night, its by no coincidence that our defence also went to pot after he went off against Morecambe.

I dont think he was that bad to be honest against a range of good league two players Bury had going forward....
The first goal seemed unlucky, he made a decent tackle and the ball spooned up and could have gone anywhere... unfortunatly it fell to Bishop whos too good to miss from there!
I bet he would have much more comfortable playing hisfirst start alongside Sharpes, and frankley there was enough there last night to show hes got enought to be a decent players for us.....
remeind me the last time a centerback at this club the ball forwward confidently and had a shot..... that was good...
Looking forward to seeing more of him to be honest.

Not impressed at all.
Saw both Nigel Pearson and Mark Williams play their 1st ever games for Town and the contrast couldn't be greater.
Bad mistake not to have extended Downing's loan..he would have done a job for us last night.
Grandison had a poor game too..so wouldn't have helped much playing him in central defence.
How badly does Wright have to play before being substituted?

think the kid should be spared, granted it wasn't a great debut,
in hindsight (and I went for him debuting at centre half) he should have played at right back, its a hard position to start in,
lots of potential there though, there were other more senior players that were worse, it takes more than one player to lose a game
