blooming good point about the club shop - i bet there's many supporters who don't even go past it at present simply because it's housed where it is i.e. east stand in the corner by the away fans.
i mean come on, how many away fans are going to go in the club shop!

so what are we looking at ther? 400 yards of tarmac? probably a survey of the site ? and lighting for about 200 yards of that. then extra policing which we will have to pay for. and the staircase? not exactly sure of the cost of that but i think a survey and probably a custom designed staircase in concrete would be needed. how much is that al going to cost? and who is going to pay for it?

Bloody hell you don't want much do you.
Can't you just be happy we have a fairly decent standium in which to watch the football.
Some people just can't be pleased, jeez.
Every business over uses its goodwill and saves money where possible. It's life, face it.
If something is unsafe, don't use it. Be late to the game, atleast you'll get there. Who cares how loud the away fans are, let them enjoy their day! Why should we have to intimidate the oppostions 'keeper just to win a game? You're asking the club to make the home fans louder?! FFS! How about asking the fans?!Make your own atmosphere!
I haven't experienced the gate closure first hand as I always walk around and don't use the powerleague bar so I can't suggest any ideas for that though. Understand your frustration with not getting in easily though.

Sorry, I shall re-phrase: If the suggestions on this thread were implemented, this is what we would have.

The OP has described what i have already experienced and commented upon before.
This Steve Gittings character needs to come out of his nice warm control box and see what is happening on the ground. If soon it all kicks off then people will be there to say i told you so.
As for the footpath down the railway line part of it was soon resurfaced to a decent standard after the stone throwing competition with Vale last year which i presume the Club paid for. So they can do it if they want to.
As an aside walking back down the path towards Oteley Road last night there were a number of official looking notices attached to the green fences. I couldn't stop to read them as i would be getting in the way of people behind so narrow is the path. Also wouldn't be a lot of point trying to read it at as it is so dark anyway!

What I find intresting is that the Super Blues raised 10k and just GAVE it to the club... When we have fans groups just handing cash over for no benifit to the fans in general it makes you wonder... Why could that not have been given to the club and say 5k of it ringfensed for improvements to access to the stadium? Honestly what will that 10k be spent on, players? Improvements to the ground? Who knows... Unless I missed something in the annoucement? Excellent point. What the hell is the point of The Super Blues ?

Why is their only 1 smal gap in the long green fence at the back of the west stand, why can't there be other openings to allow fans quicker access.
Everything about going to that dump is just annoying.

Why don't the club stop the absolute farce of funnelling thousands of people down a dangerous unlit narrow path and instead work with the various interested parties to re- arrange the whole North stand/ West Stand junction and utilise that lovely wide purpose built road with it's huge double gates that I have never seen open.
Oh I know...The SAG. Complete and utter farce.

I have visited 2 newly opened grounds this season. Both do not appear to have any barrier restrictions for access or when leaving. Perhaps this will change. Another club, Gillingham, categorize matches and only restrict leaving the ground for high risk games (Shrewsbury was not one). Maybe it is also time to say that people should grow up and behave like adult human beings.

I would think the home fans are kept waiting to avoid the confrontations that you said you experienced on Tuesday night. And as for flicking the 'V's. you say you are 67 thats a fine example to set your 9 year old son. Just as well that you werent punched because i wouldnt think you would be able to control yourself Very dissapointing from an oap

No, he was with his 67 year old father and 9 year old son. Anyhow the initial posters age is irrelevant. Have you never reacted when someone has spoken out of turn to you or gesticulated? If not fair play, I will nominate you at once for the next Mother Theresa award

Allowing supporters to have their enjoyment of a football match ruined by a couple of well known supporters sat in block 18 intent on offensively swearing, racially abusing the away team and intimidating supporters around them who either tell them to keep quiet or try and alert a steward. What does said steward do go and shake hands with the offender. All the while offers to rearrange said supporters faces after the match are doled out by well known supporter and his mates. Ah yes the small issue of racism that STFC just can't seem to get to grips with, whether its reported to stewards or emailed/written into the club.

Who cares how loud the away fans are, let them enjoy their day! What a camp post. People like you are responsible for the lack of atmosphere in English football.

If the fans want to an atmosphere can be created in even the most unlikely places, as FC United have proven at Brighton:

Does football always have to be about hatred and rivalry does it? Also, when the away fans are loud, it can spark the home fans into life.
