Johnny Evans.
Best young cb in the world aye Fergie? He was hilariously bad. the 11M Smalling ain't much better. Its not a good sign when your future gets skinned by the likes of Carlton Cole.
Also how much did Anderson cost again?
Anyway that aside I'd love to make some remarks about the result but come on...its the Carling Cup, its a mickey mouse cup which most sides in the premier league don't really give a toss about.

With you being a Liverpool fan, I suppose you'd have to say that! Northampton at home hey Johnny Evans last season was very good and deputised very well for When Ferdinand was out for a long spell with his back problems. This season he hasn't been good enough but Chris Smalling I'd disagree with you, he's played very well when I've seen him and in a couple of years time I'd back him to be a regular in the England team. It was a very weakened Man United side tonight, nobody cares about the Carling cup including me. Fair play to West Ham though credit where it's due and they could have had a couple more goals.

To be honest if united wanted to win that game they would have put a team out to win it, the fact they didnt proves they have other priorities.

Carlton Cole has scored twice in the same match for the first time in his career. Not sure if that's a bigger indictment on him or United... WAAAAAAAAAAIT - sorry, he did against Gillingham in the League Cup with Chelsea in November 2002. For the sake of clarity - Cole scored twice in a game for the first time in eight years and only the second time in his career. Thats a fact that every other premiership striker can't hope to better eh Reg ?

Avram Grant seems to be very good at getting teams to cup finals and relegated from the premier league in the same season

In fairness the 'ammers tonked them all over the pitch, they outfought and out played a very poor United side. Fergie might be a bit worried if this is a future line up for them.

Your opponents weren't at full strength either - but that's never mentioned on such occasions is it

The "only player we have got" Parker was on the bench last night with a chest infection. Regular first teamers also out mostly injured Dyer, Da Costa, Behrami, Piquionne, Noble, Gabbidon, Hitzelsperger.................... Our reserves are just better than your reserves

But he was being marked by "one of the greatest prospects in the premiership" (Alex Fergusson 2007)

Fletcher, Giggs and Anderson were all playing.
Yet their midfield was totally over run.
Also Bebe is looking every inch the £7million internet signing - i wonder if Fergie can get a paypal refund?

all of United's players had recent first team experience, which i don't think the same could be said for W Ham. OK it wasn't Man U strongest team but it wasn't weak either (in theory).

Congratulations to West Ham, what a fantastic result.
No chance of them succumbing to the old waffle of `just concentrating on the league` with a cup semi final to prepare for.

Regular first teamers also out Hitzelsperger.................... How can you call Hitzelsperger a regular first team player when he got injured in pre-season and hasn't played a single game for West Ham?

How can you call Hitzelsperger a regular first team player when he got injured in pre-season and hasn't played a single game for West Ham? Based on preseason he was virtually gauranteed a place in midfield - and will slot straight in as and when fit - although that Manc reject Specky did a decent job against the £7m wonderboy who Fergie obviously rates higher
