Would have been nice to have seen the other designs... So would you get into copyright trouble if you... From what Whitters has said, yes. It's not just the badge as a whole that has copyrighted, but aspects of it. Think Whitters said something like 14 different registrations. Therefore the circle, lettering etc. is also copyright. Unless you asked the club and got their permission in writing of course. Which I doubt they'd give

I'm not worried about clip art etc, I just think the badge is a poor piece of design because my first thought when seeing it is other football clubs and other products (Chelsea/Millwall/Lion Bars etc).
A logo should differentiate your brand not remind you of other similar designs.
Brands/logos/badges inevitably change over the years, but brand owners try to evolve their logos by leaving clues to previous designs, thus retaining and developing the brand heritage.
The new badge is a complete departure from our history and the only justification I can think of for this is that the club plans to re-brand itself as 'the Lions' and this is the first step.

Define supporting the Club implicitly. unquestioning or unreserved; absolute: implicit trust; implicit obedience; implicit confidence I know what implicitly means. I just wanted you do define what constitutes blind faith in the context of supporting Salop.

A badge is a badge it doesnt affect the performance on the pitch.
Although i really like the loggerheads design (due to hirstorical links etc) the fact remains that we have a new badge.
perhaps we can change it in a few years but i don't see it changed in the foreseeable future.
We are lucky in so much that this is one of the main gripes on this site - not administration or lack of squad players etc.
In an ideal world we would have the loggerheads but we have what we have. The club has listened to the supporters on a number of issues and stated why they could not consult on this matter but there is nothing to say they wont in the future.

There are a number of people making some very relevant points on this thread, and life would be very uninteresting if we all agreed all the time, but isn't it time we moved forward? This is very clearly not going to be reviewed, we have done the copyrighting, the logo will be up I'm sure at the NM by now, we will I'm sure have paid for the work to be done. We have been repeating the same argument for months and I'm sure our energy could be better used pushing other issues forward.

"Shrewsbury Town Football Club has launched a new logo which will be used from next season. The new design is in the club’s blue and amber colours. It has been changed on legal advice so the club can better protect its corporate identity ahead of moving to its new £15 million stadium in Oteley Road this summer. The new look has been designed by Shrewsbury Town season ticket holder Tony Brooks." well done tony...

being a fan of a football club is crazy when you come to think of it
you are totally reliant on the 11 players on the field to whom you have no control
the club have got blue and amber seats in the stadium and the kit is not an everton kit
I am not a great fan of it, but its OK and Im getting used to it. The club HAD to change the badge for various reasons, if you dont like it then fair enough, but it can be changed in seasons to come.
I so sincerely hope those who constantly put their views on this matter also write letters to their councillors about STFC moving and investigating the mertis of the travel plan as they are posting other clubs badges on here
for crying out load.. give it a break... no season ticket prices / no launch date for season tickets / when is the new kit coming out / i dont like the badge .. its like a stuck record - all reasoning is because of the move to the new stadium. These agendas have never happened before and wont happen again. Its for one season whilst everything is sorted out behind the scenes.
we havent been relegated, got to Wembley, Drummond is the first league player to ever score at the new wembley stadium

Indeed. Wouldn't bother me if we had a gay fisherman in a pink tutu on our badge as long as we were winning. However, if we were losing i'd be a bit cross.

The 0.1% is the logo. As for the rest, it is easy for you say as I get the impression you are in a privileged position and know a fair bit of what is going on behind the scene's. Maybe have a bit more Patience with those not in the know. If it's frustrating you then don't read the board.

If the club do change it, it will signal that this new corporate branding has failed their objectives. Agree with many points on this thread: I dislike it. It looks cheap. I havent warmed to it in anyway shape or form. Too cluttered wording - STFC is surely not needed as 70% of the wording is SHREWSBURY TOWN. I'll not buy anything with that logo on it, in the same way i didnt purchase a top carrying the MG sportswear brand. (the kids will no doubt demand a new shirt though)

I am not a great fan of it, but its OK and Im getting used to it. Exactly how I feel towards the new logo, it'll probably never make my heart flutter like seeing the loggerheads raised up for the final time at Wembley but I dont feel strongly enough against it to avoid buying any new merchandise.

No doubt that the new logo is completely meaningless - probably in exactly the same way as the "Shrew" logo was a while back - (don't want to get involved in a 'Shrowes' or 'Shrews' bury debate) but the good news will be when the club realise the error of their ways they can change it back. See you in 2 years Mr Loggerhead
