Well after looking at the 125th anniversary kit in the fashion show pictures I can honestly say I am disappointed. Extremely disappointed. I've never been the biggest fan of the new badge but I was intending on purchasing the 125th anniversay shirt until I saw the designs, and now i've seen what they actually look like i'm definately NOT going to purchase one. For a start, the shade of blue is not the same as what it was originally. The sponsor looks good but it doesn't go well with the shirt. The badge should be central at least and 'Joma' is far too big.
On the subject of the £125 'limited edition' shirts, I am disgusted that the club could charge this price for a piece of fabric. I'm well aware that teams generate revenue from doubling or trebling the price of the shirts they have purchased when selling them on, but this is a farce and has annoyed me massively. They are no different except there is no sponsor. They should have the original badge and be the original colour.
I am now interested in that idea that someone bought up about buying the shirts and putting the loggerhead badge on it. Has that plan gone ahead?
What are your opinions?

Agreed, the club has totally missed the point of having a shirt which is meant to pay tribute to our history which doesn't in any way!

Over the years we've had good, bad and indifferent designs which you can be sure some like and some hate. This '125 Years Anniversary' shirt doesn't fall into any of these categories as from the photo's I've seen it hasn't even been designed! It's little more than a plain blue shirt that has no connection with our club in any way with the makers logo dominating the front and an excuse for a club badge which again does not depict anything about the clubs history............. very disappointing What happened the the blue and white quarters that I thought the club had decided on? Or was it a plain blue with white collar? I'm confused

As far as I know, there is no evidence of what our shirts looked like 125 years ago.
They could have been light blue with a big collar and a lion badge, no one can prove they weren't.

Im not confused. The shirt is exactly the same as the artists impression we were given at the back end of last season and i think its fine. If we go and get promoted wearing this shirt in years to come they`ll call it a classic.

At the moment though it's just another classic cock up. Why is it a classic cock up? Its just a blue shirt. We`ve been wearing blue shirts of one style or another for most of our 125 years.

At the moment though it's just another classic cock up. Why? We were told we were getting a pain blue shirt, thats what we have got It's a plain LIGHT blue top filled with modern corporate rubbish with absolutely NOTHING celebrating the 125 year anniversary apart from the 125 under the Joma logo which looks like it's 125 years of Joma not STFC! How did no one notice that?

The 125 is under Clippy, not Joma.

this thread does nothing to stop the belief that town fans are a bunch of miserable, reactionary, idiots. only on this board could a simple blue shirt cause so much negativity, and a logo cause utter apoplexy.you are a bunch of middle aged women looking for the next thing to pick on

If I was in Rowland's shoes I think I would build houses on the ground and say enough is enough, no matter what the club does there is always someone just waiting to shoot them down and critisise , some even seem to be waiting for such opportunities. Everything is too expensive, wrong colour, wrong badge ,too late , players signed are crap before they even kick a ball for the club, We don't live in an ideal world and what is not right for one person maybe just right for the next person but whatever club people support should expect support not continual S***stirring, shout loud enough and you may convince yourself and a few others may agree but ask yourselves " do I get everything right every time, do I convince my employers (or workmates) that I am infallible. The person who never makes mistakes (so the saying goes) never makes anything. Some people find so much wrong, it makes them so unhappy why not just stay away,or at the very least not buy the items that cause then so much heartache. I thought we were called "supporters" in some cases I wonder.

This may be a technicality, but as far as I recall the only return to the olden days ever stated was in the colours (blue and white). No where I recall anyone from the club say that they were gonna produce a retro shirt just like it used to be. I think some people expected far too much

I don't mind it as a shirt.. but have only seen the photos of it so far... would have liked to seen the loggerheads on it like many others, but do like the look of the shirt itself.

Saw they shirt at the " do" on Monday night. Would have liked a more blue colour to it, and the badge in the centre of the shirt. Would also have liked a loggerheads badge, but overall a nice shirt. Looks very modern, lightweight and stylish. Don't usually wear "football" shirts, but this one is modern enough to wear as a casual shirt anywhere. Surely the shirt is an emblem of our support for our club, on which we can remember all the good times we have had over the years from 125 years ago to present times. It does not have to be an exact copy of the original, as no one knows exactly what the first shirt looked like. Don't spoil your own "party" by constant sniping, please.

Windsor Jnr - have you ever bought a Town shirt before? Smells like a wind up to me. Yeah, latest one I have is last years away shirt (08-09 season) Wind up .. my ass! I'm only expressing my opinion and disappointment of the shirt. I've not come out and slated the club and called them a shambles or anything, i've just expressed my disappointment with the shirt. Sorry Siabad, didn't mean to be a mr negative, next time i am disappointed and want to voice my opinion, i won't do =[

Sib I believe the Chairman has looked at building houses on the pitch already but lack of parking put him off..... As for Naths post he genuinely means it, having spoken with him it is not a wind up. In fairness he puts his point across fairly well without slander or malice. As for the shirt, it should not descend into a slagging match people your either pro - neutral - against simple as. For what its worth £125 is a complete and utter money grab by STFC IMO, but that is just an opinion right ?

The cut of the shirt looks much better: the sleeves don't look baggy and shapeless as they have on home kits for a number of years. And I don't think the collar would look too big if the bottom button was fastened.

The whole point of an anniversary shirt is reverting back to your roots is it not?
We this with Arsenal and their maroon kit. I've got no problem with the colour but I would have liked to have seen the kit without a sponsor but also realise the implications financially of doing that.
I must be missing something here - what is £125? Please tell me the shirt is not retailing for £125 and if so what is the justification?

maybe some people wanted a shirt closer to the original which i guess was a colour that nobody can verify hideous thick material and a collar more like harry hills than people joke about oh and i doubt it had a badge, not even the loggerheads it probably had silly buttons and the only person daft enough to wear it would have been timmy mallet

and they sell burgers for £3 that cost 10p to make the club sell sunday lunches for £16 that cost pence to produce the golf course sell pencils for 20p that cost less than 1p to buy WSMR sell tickets to london for £40 a first class ticket costs £162
its about supply and demand
i didnt agree with paying £10 for the coventry game so i didnt go simple as i might go to the tranmere game yet, not sure, maybe it because i dont agree with £10 twice in a week
oh
have you even asked the club to justify anything ? do they have to anyway
they are selling and can set whatever price they like
you are a potential customer with a choice
