Oh, but theyre a really ambitious club now that the man who supposedly held them back, Mr Turner, has gone! I bet their accountant will be choking on his cuppa if he finds out they have sold 500 season tickets

Ive got no real strong feelings towards Hereford really but I dont want to get into the "are they rivals" debate as its been done to death
Their forum is a joke though, yes a lot of it is said to deliberately wind us up and clearly some Shrewsbury fans have bitten, and of course there are some Shrewsbury posters on there who do their best to wind them up. On the whole you cant take it seriously but do have a couple of annoyances in that one of their fans will start a thread about us (normally about how we are skint, turning againt Turner blah blah blah) and if a Shrewsbury fan dares to challenge then its a sign that we are obsessed with them. And of course the never ending "theres loads of Shrewsbury fans on here, we never post on B&A", conveniently forgetting the board being swamped when they got promoted which I think is the one time they have had any sort of reason to look down on us in my lifetime
Personally I just love the irony of their fans getting excited over a new stand, a fans forum, new toilets and some better catering considering the stick they have gone us over the past few years when we have mentioned all non footballing stuff (the new ground, increased crowds, bigger revenue, the restuarant)
Parka makes me laugh though. I really am intrigued as to what makes that lad tick.

cant believe they are so poorly supported, puts turners achievment there into perspective I guess it shows how football can change I remember late 90's under King when gates of around 2,500 were the norm. Now we have more than that buying season tickets Maybe under this new board they will progress and gates increase. Some of their fans seem to believe that the crowds have been so low over the past few years because of Turner being so unpopular. I dont know all the ins and outs and no doubt there will be fans who return because GT is no longer there. However I think its a bit of a convenient excuse to blame GT and expect that the combination of struggling at the wrong half of the table for the past few seasons whilst in a crumbling ground with poor facilities will have put some people off as well I guess we will find out when the season starts Interestingly though, come across the following site which shows their average crowd dropped by 35% from the previous season (a massive drop and would assume would impact on their income for this season and therefore the wage budget) www.mikeavery.co.uk/Attendance%20All%20Teams%20High%20to%20Low.htm

Ive got no real strong feelings towards Hereford really but I dont want to get into the "are they rivals" debate as its been done to death I live and work in the Hereford area and believe me, they see us as their main rivals. They wont have it when I tell them they should concentrate on hating Cheltenham and that Port Vale is our biggest derby in League 2 If GT went to any other club bar us I dont think there would be any of the venom they now aim towards him on their forum and at my workplace.

The animosity towards Turner by Hereford is unjustified. They have always been pretty poorly supported with a very rundown ground but he still hauled them out of the conference and to promotion. Turner gets stick simply because he'd been there so long and many of them just got bored with the chairman, manager, ground and to be honest the lack of support and inability to generate revenue. They are justifiably a league 2 club albeit mid-table with possibilities of the odd play-off push. We should be able to achieve more with our resources and even if we don't Hereford fans will always take a pop at us because we should generally be in contention and at the start of the season we always have reason to be hopful about the season ahead. The key is turning hope to results on the pitch!

Time will tell, yes g.t. became very unpopular, blaming the fans for untold things, also banning people and threatening court action etc.... he did himself no favours. Where ever he went we would give stick in that direction to be honest, all the best for the forth coming season, I hope you wont need it. O by the way, its good to have a football club that is now owned by someone who accepts that the facilities at E.S.are diabolical (as they have been for so so many years, owners who want to get the locals back involved with the club. I appreciate that these thing sound and seam very small in the contexts of a football club, but we have been run by a man who would rather look after a pension than take care of a football club.

To be fair, 300 season tickets sold is an increase of 85%. ..think we would be happy with that.
Hereford are a massives club and it's about time some of the less enlightened on here realised that.

I think folk on here are a little harsh on Hereford. Nothing like fans rallying to the cause. Surely the same as the concourse project at the Greenhous Meadow.

It amazes me how a team that offer no more than Hereford utd nearly every season and a team with better facilities more money and a better ground and all they offer is a few put downs on a message board cos lets face it come May you will all be crying saying the same old things like we should be wiining this league and we are much bigger than them how are we losing to crap like this just read back all the rubbish you write we dont pretend like the massive slop and watch what you write or the massiah might ban you.

Can you find a post where anyone has said we should be winning the league?
You are right, we have better facilities, we have more money, we have a better ground, we have bigger gates but so do Bradford, it doesnt mean anything.
You like to portray us that we are this arrogant bunch of fans who expect promotion, we dont. We expect to do better than you though because of the things you have outlined above
If you want to talk about arrogant or getting ideas above your station, look at your own forum. A thread started talking about promotion after a couple of pre season wins

You sound a decent person but you have only got to read some of your fans comments on this thread to know they thimk they are much bigger than they are lets get real you very rarely finish that much higher than us anymore.

No disrespect to Hereford but your average gate last season was 2,139, your ground is crumbling and holds very little and we have a far superior budget to you
I hate to get into the "my dad is bigger than your dad" argument but could you dispute if we say we are a bigger club than you?
Of course all that has meant nothing on the pitch because we are still in the same league as you

Apart from the 10 years you spent in The Conference obviously...or the years and years you spent in The Southern League before getting anywhere near league football. Yeah, that'll be right.
