Can someone please enlighten me to what Mr Harris' role is at STFC? What does he actually get paid for?
Thank you.

Excellent question.
The only thing I can attribute to him so far is the ridiculous 'family friendly' initiative that he signed us up for, further sterilising the club's atmosphere.
He has made no attempt to address the matters that really concern the true supporters of Shrewsbury Town, for example: the shameful Clipart lion, the appallingly bad PA system, the ground's lack of any identity and the ever-increasing ticket prices.

this board is rapidly going down the tubes with seemingly everything probed and questioned. Kits. Staff. Players. Managers. Chairmen. Lions. Fences. Signs. Goal music. Websites. Programme. Concourses. You'd swear some are on an anti-Town crusade. Listen to yourselves. Embarrassing really? Give it up. Please.

I shall if I don't get a reply by today on here. Why should any club official answer any question on here ? bit arrogant don't you think ? I presume you know who the man in question is, therefore why don't you introduce yourself to him and ask the question to his face?

for a non-loaded, non-STFC bias reply : he does absolutely sod all, all day, everyday except play cricket on a small play station 3 that he had under his desk = does that answer your question?
he is a lovely friendly chap who I am sure will be more than willing to personally explain
I know what he does but it is apparent that you have nothing to occupy yourself with today so perhaps it is better if you find out for yourself, therefore why don't you simply call him and ask. I'm even providing the telephone number so that it saves you the hassle of ploughing through the official clubs website. I can assure you that it works also : 01743 289177
Perhaps then you could communicate with Ian Whit who has too much on his plate and is in desperate need for programme help. This season I can not devote much of my spare time to STFC and I have other things going on, however may I suggest that you offer to spend all season writing 1,500 word articles on people behind the scenes so that supporters like yourself are aware of their roles and work in the football club. Starting the series off with Jon Harris would be an excellent start - perhaps then the chefs, the ground staff, safety officers and the problems that they encounter on a weekly basis, Sib in the club shop and the difficult decisions she has to face in trying to order the correct number of items for fans to purchase, the commercial dept and how they struggle through the recessions, dave hughes and walford college, the U9s to the U16s and how many people devote their time to bring up the youngsters - so many ideas...
I personally think the idea is an excellent one and for someone who questions what officials do in the club, it is a superb idea to help fan to club relations and communicate the hard work that everyone has to do every day with little or no merit from the paying fans.
As Ant always says, too many moaners and not enough doers. You clearly have had enough time to interview Mr Harris this morning judging on the amount of time 'wasted' on B+A. It would only take 1 hr every two weeks.
I expect to see Mr Harris on Monday when I would dearly love him to say.. "Hey that southstandshrew chap rung me last week - what a great bloke..." and for the media department to say "Yes, he is a lifesaver. I am sure that the fans will love his programme feature..."

SSS - your arrogance is breathtaking. This board is nothing to do with the club, and you expect Mr Harris to rush on to here to justify his existence and salary to you?
If you want to know what JH, or indeed anyone else does at the club, send an email to the club, or ring them directly. I'm sure Jon Harris will happily take your call and give you the information you require.
What i would say is that a large number of STFC employees do read this board, and if I was one of them, over the last 48 hours, the overwhelming majority of content would satisfy me that it wasn't worth a moment of my time. It has been negative, aggressive, pedantic, ill-informed, and it has quite frankly embarassed me.
I don't necessarily love everyone that works at the club any more than they all love me, but to start threads about individuals, and criticise initiatives without any clue of the detail is schholboy stuff.
If you need to know something, go through the correct channels, because you're making yourself look a complete idiot at the minute, and I resent being associated with you, however indirectly.

Occasionally I can see why the club view this site with such contempt. It is a real shame because for the majority of the time this place is a valuable resource which I personally feel the club should utilise more. (Glyn's survey for example).

Agree about the reaction... its been pretty negative this week... but there have been several things to get peoples back up, a new kit people dont like, people going to Devon just for us to pull out, frustration at no new singings, the £10 Pre Season rip off, the £125 kit with little or no additional information on it, news of another person leaving the club and no news on it..... its not like people are nit picking for no reason...
However there are some posters on here whos continual banging of the same negative drum is tiresome, and frankley damageing to B and A
I would hope that people at the club realise that its a jsut a small few.
I have personally been apaplectic with rage and anger at some performances and slated the club, manager and players many times... but I can also give them credit on here and do... we all need a little balance... if you cant find anything positive to say about the club... find a new club, or as Billy has said try to effect some change..
For everyone thats had there two pence worth this week, please fill in the Audit over the next few weeks...

If not about what is happening at the club they love and follow. The main problem at the moment is that it's closed season so people have the tendency to look more off pitch, as not a lot is going on playing wise. It's a place were fans of STFC can can and moan and get things off their chests. I agree there is a lot of tosh and rubbish at times on the board, but it's a public forum, so that is to be expected. As to the question Billy Scarratt gave the answer that should have been given, not the little rant you gave. The last time I check we live in a Democracy and the club is a PLC (P = Public) so has share holders. So share holders and members of the public have a right to ask what is happening at the club and who does what. Or are you of the opinion that we pays our money and should not have the right to say or ask anything of the club??

Why do you not respond to any of the posts above that question your motivation and agenda, yet ask for expansion on something that sounds like it might provide negativity abour Jon Harris. A casual observer might think that you have an axe to grind here....

Brilliant response from Billy Scarratt. Also Page58 and DaveG. As Jamo has correctly pointed out, there is a channel in place to direct questions to the club. Why the hell should you expect club officials to answer a question on an unofficial message board? As a few on here probably know I have had an issue re the pre season ticket prices but rather than demand answers on here I have contacted the club. You are always going to get moans on such things as kit but that is down to personal preferences really. Although I would say some comments are way OTT - you don't like the colour? Fair enough, but should people be hung drawn and quartered over it? Ok slight exageration, but that is the way some come across. We will always have topics and questions for debate and El Huracan has perfectly highlighted those that have been topical in the last week. There are times we should ask awkward questions and debate issues on something that is close to all our hearts, i.e. STFC. But there are ways and means of doing it. Oh, in answer to your question SSS, Jon Harris is General Manager, this title covers several areas, which I will allow him to explain to you when you use the proper channel of contact.
