www.shrewsburytown.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10443~2099029,00.html Game kicks off at 8pm at Torrington FC. I think he'll go for:Neal Raven Sharps SCS Sadler Wright Disley McIntyre Neal Harrold Robinson Be interesting to see what GT does regarding the substitution situation. Will he go down the same route as Blackpool or stick to the letter? My prediction: Rushden 2-4 Shrewsbury. Anyone going to the game able to update us, like Billy Scarratt kindly did on Monday? Come on SALOP!!

Pre-season or not lets just go out and beat them, stuff them. Despite only being about in the League for such a short time I don't have the best of memories regarding Rushden...some awful moments...
Boooooooooo to em. Come on Town!!

If by a slight chance the match is a draw, does anybody know what will happen or who will go through?
Since Rushden & Diamonds beat Ilfracombe 5-1 last night - The same as us, we will be level on points, goal difference and goals scored. Anybody know?
I suspect there isn't extra time since this is a group stage game and not knock out...

Pens, besides they will be bottom on goal difference if it was a point a piece. Although with this being the Joma comp it could be draw straws, rock, paper scissors or alphabetical - AFC Shrewsbury

Looks like a standard 4-4-2. I fancy a 1-1 draw with a town penalty win.

I think if it's a 0-0 draw then Ilfracombe go through. Not 100% on that though. If it's a score draw, no idea. Well that really would be a farce after the subs fiasco. A team that get thumped 5-1 in both games finishing above both of them. Even Shropshire FA couldn't write that one

It goes to a penalty shoot out if its a draw and the winning team will progress to the semi finals

well that would then mean that all 3 teams will have 4 points and with town and rushden still needing a penalty shootout to separate them.

There is no way we should be in a competition that a team beaten 5-1 twice, beats both of them teams to qualification. Surely any draw should bring a penalty shoot out, with the winner going through?
Where you getting your understanding from Ned/Ed? I can't find a website with the ins and outs.

a no score draw is 1 point each, a score draw is 2 points. any draws in this competion whether in grou or knockout go to a penalty shootout... so it will go to pens whatever happens if it is a draw

The lad is confused, Ilfracombe cannot qualify its impossible, even if its a draw 0-0 they fall to the bottom on gd

Game decided by penalties if level after 90 minutes. Even if shrews lost 3-0 they still get 1 point and wont finish bottom of the group...
