Happy with that Puzzling that its another 6 month loan, surely if Bristol Rovers didn't want him he wouldn't have cost us much

Seems a good signing on the face of it. I'm sure they'll be at least one 'underwelmed' person on here who thinks we should've bagged Messi! Does seem to put the Ainsworth rumour to bed though, can't see we'd bring in two right wingers.

Sounds like a good deal - I thought he looked pretty good at MK Dons

Weren't we linked with him after his contract was up at Walsall? Decent player, think he a had a good game at the Meadow (maybe scored) the season Walsall went up.
Last time I saw him he was shopping in Wednesbury Ikea.

yeah, i remember him when he was at mk dons. Proper out and out wide men, what we've been missing really, capable of getting beyond a man. Wonder why we haven't bought him. GT unsure, cost or bristol rovers not 100% wanting him to leave. still 6 month is a good deal of time. Good signing

was transfer listed at Bristol, and as of a few days they said they had received no offers. maybe GT wasn't convinced enough to buy

He had a very good game for MK Dons in the 3-3 home draw the season MK Dons went up - I am pretty certain he scored at least 1 that night and ended up scoring about 13 for the season.

Nearly an hour and no negative comment, someone must be out to lunch.

I don't necessarily agree with that as Ainsworth is not considered just a winger but also a striker!

Just had this off a pal who supports Rovers:
"Oh mate, he is shocking. Can’t run, can’t cross and is lazier than rik waller on a bad day"

Nearly an hour and no negative comment, someone must be out to lunch. Yes, was at lunch! :-) .... Journeymen United!! Not sure why one of their fans says they must have told real porkies to get the deal done - Nor why another comments ...Thank god for that, that bloke was a waste of space ! .... maybe we will find out !! www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/90934-wright-gone/One thing I was hoping was that GT would do better in the transfer market.

Its amazing how many players we have had where some supporters have been glad to see the back of but have gone on to better things elsewhere.
Just because it hasnt worked out for him at another club (same goes for Harrold) doesnt mean it wont work out here.

To quote my mate who supports Walsall. He just text me'... "Yeah pretty good i'd have him back. Right winger or wing back. Was at MK Dons last i heard. Probably about mid or late 20's now ?"

As I said on the other thread ... As for alternatives - nope I can't answer the question because I don't know know what our budget is do I? Nor do I know about of the thousands of players who could be let go, is not happy, is out of favour etc elsewhere. Nor does anyone on here. However I do seem to recall us selling a striker last summer for 450K having bought him for 170K - an issue debated many times on here. I also recall us bidding £100K a couple of times for Benson and O'Flynn. Maybe there will be more cheerful news today - but not as yet :-(

From a Brighton supporting mate, where Wright was once upon a time!
"He barely played for us, but in pre-season when we had him he looked pretty sharp. We signed Elliott Bennett for 200k a couple of weeks after we'd signed Wright so it unsettled him. Will be very good for League 2 though."

Well at this present in time i don't see a problem with this signing. Again judging by his reputation at rovers maybe a 6 month limited risk loan option is sensible to see if he can still produce the goods. Saying that a quick out an out winger who can beat a man is what we have been crying out for, so, so far so good me thinks. A number of factors can get an out of form player firing on all cylinders once again. The main one is the manager, hopefully he can get him going and playing to the best of his ability, GT has already given Wright a confidence boost by claiming he wanted him at Hereford, nothing better than confidence and praise from your manager. He clearly can't have turned into a bad player just like that, his record at MK is very impressive.

His 2009/2010 season was clearly a bit of a non-starter, but in the two previous seasons he did very well. In 2007/2008 he was the MK Dons top scorer in their League 2 promotion campaign with 15 goals from midfield (plus 4 assists): www.football-league.co.uk/page/Goalscorers/0,,10794~200710420~26,00.html In 2008/2009 - in League 1 - he got 5 goals from midfield and provided 7 assists. He's 28 and should be in his prime. Sounds very impressive if you ask me. If he does even half as well as he did in his last season in League 2 - 15 goals - he'll be an excellent signing and a massive, massive improvement on what was on the right of our midfield last season.

He could be absolutely shambolic signing for all i know. And based on recent history probably will be. The point i'm making is i will make judgement on watching him not on the opinion of previous clubs fans.

Apparently there was some sort of adverse cligue at Bristol Rovers and Wright was one of these. He was transfer listed because of this and is probably the reason why GT does not want to sign him at the moment on a permanent basis. GT, though, has a habit of bringing out the best in miscreants-so here's hoping.

I don't get this fascination with signing players for big fees. Our manager obviously feels he can get the club to where we all want to be without the need to splash the cash just because he can. The whole ethos seems to be changing from the snippets we're fed- refusing to bow to players over inflated demands, releasing players who have indicated they might be open to a move elsewhere etc. Seems like he is building a real team of like minded, physically fit and relatively capable players some with a good experience of success at this level and others with real potential to shine. Could be my optimistic nature but I'm really looking forward to watching the squad develop and watch a manager actually motivate his players to be proud to pull on the shirt again.

15 goals in 41 games for MK Dons in 07/08 which is a terrific strike rate for a midfielder in this division, I have to say this looks like a superb and he sounds like a good signing on paper. If you look at his record on wiki and soccerbase it looks impressive and he manged 24 games in the league above for Bristol Rovers last season. He scored two against us in the 3-3 match in 2008 and scored a hat trick away to Bury in the same season. Link------> Mark Wright - Soccerbase Link------> Mark Wright - Wiki I'd be surprised if we see Ainsworth coming in now but I expect an announcement of a striker joining soon and possibly later today in time for the first Joma South West challenge tournament on monday.
