Not to mention an excuse for Vale and Stoke to pay each other which, let's be honest, isn't going to happen again for the foreseeable future.
I totally agree that Drayton being chucked out is ridiculous though.
If they want to revive interest in the competition they should include more teams (say 6, with Shrewsbury and Telford seeded as two of the semi-finalists), not less.

If I were a Drayton official, I'd be well miffed with the Shropshire FA. They beat AFC, lose 3 - 2 in the final, then they suddenly aren't good enough. Disgrace.

As long as we have people like DR at the SFA then England will never win the World Cup, it starts at grass roots and the Shropshire FA aint got a clue!!!
Sturborn, stuck in the ways out to make money.

The Shropshire Senior Cup is a total farce, probably the best way to sort out who wins is to toss a coin before the start and award it to the winners.
Staffs have it right, 16 teams some of them reserves.
The Shrops FA's response in the Star tonight shows them up to be a total shambles IMO

I used to enjoy watching Town in the semi-finals, was almost always a massive laugh. Remember winning 7-0 at Ludlow a few years ago, and I just can't understand why they've been stopped.
The six team tournament with us and Telford seeded would the one I'd go along with, joined by Ellesmere, Market Drayton, Ludlow and Bridgnorth.

Why does he just not say the truth which is... if Shrewsbury don't play AFC Telford each year the Shropshire FA don't make as much money and there scared Drayton would make the final and dent the coffers

Post above is spot on. Its all to do with a STFC V AFCTU Final and the Shropshire FA dont want to risk them not having their money-maker
Am I right in thinking that Telford were in the same league as what Market Drayton currently are and competed in the competition?

Yep. Difference is that AFC get far bigger attendances, so more money. Can we end this annual farce by donating cash to the Shrops FA each year please so they don't lose out.

Can we just not enter in it. Town and Telford should both pull out of the competition. This aint fair on Drayton, Bridgenorth, Ludlow, Ellesmere or Shifnal, heck. I'd even invite TNS as guests to play in it if i was head of the shropshire FA.

I understand we'd be excluded from the FA Cup if we didn't participate and also possibly face a hefty fine. I'd agree with your suggestion to invite TNS as well as widen the cometition.

I think telford should possibly stick there reserves or youth team in it as well so the standard is lowered.

Its been a shambles in my eyes since to attempt to make more money, Sheffield United and Wolves were entered into one year, and as I reacall won it (games vs us at the meadow??) I wont be attending another game if its just an anual STFC vs Telford game... The only way the Shrops FA will understand this is for a boycott... if they make no money from the STFC vs Telford then what do they do Proabley ask Wolves and Sheff United back to play the final

It's an outdated competition and was always used to allow some of the smaller clubs to play at GM in the oldest cup comp in the world, however, this isnt happening and just having us and them down the road is ridiculous.

TNS are a cross breed club merged between 2 clubs that played in welsh league, but also one of those clubs played in an english league. Its all bizairre to me how they are allowed to play there home games in england.

While I agree that there should be more teams participating, I am more perplexed by the fact that the competition is no longer played in pre-season. Seemed the ideal time to me.
