Yep sad to see Kelvin move on but if we're to progress as a club I think the no nonsense approach by Turner is exactly what we need. I just hope good replacements are lined up.
Not bothered about Dunfield at all.

As for Dunfield if he was good enough he would walk into the Canada team regardless of where he was playing his club football. I must admit a international manager who picks his team on the reputation of the players club is a new one on me! Bye bye Terry maybe Bickerton can help you find a new club! ;-) Doesn't seem that unusual - generally it's national coaches telling Premier League fringe players they need to be playing regularly (Ben Foster - classic example), or move on from a relegated club. I don't think it's at all surprising. If I were Canada's coach I'd encourage my players to play at the highest club level possible. Playing well in the 4th tier of English football doesn't equip a player for international competition and it's unrealistic for us to think it doesn't matter. Let's just hope we might get a fee for Dunfield too and wish him well.

What are people expectations as regards fees for both players? Surly Kelvin would be worth a bit

How very, very strange. A fee for Langers is good business, but let's remember a centre back in a play off final team twice is a decent player. The Dunfield one is just bizarre, but it clears a peg in the dressing room for some quality. Just a shame we cannot lose the driftwood every summer instead of the spine. We are going to need a decent midfielder, to add to the left back, winger and stirker we so desperately need. I think Roland's chequebook might be in for a battering. We have McIntrye to hold, Disley, Leslie and BVB as more offensive players(neal left out of the conversation purposely). Not sure if Turner will employ BvdB wide or centrally so there is certainly scope for 2 wide players to come in. We are light in numbers, however Dunfield going is a blessing IMO as we can do better.

Turner sounds pretty livid with Dunfield. I don't rate his chances of getting a gig at a higher level on the basis of a so-so season at Town and an international friendly against Venezuela. I would have told him to **** off too. I wonder which team is actually better though? Shrewsbury Town or Canada? I'd put money on town winning that encounter.

Good luck to Kelvin, move will do him good..I guess Gary Peters is behind this somewhere with Kelv and Hibbo both going to Peterboro. Gary Johnson being a friend of Gary Peters. I guess we will only get a fee for Dunfield if somebody wants him Best part of the news release is the no nonsense approach from Turner. Straight, clear and very refreshing!

Attitude and commitment wise, Kelvin is Premier league. Ability wise, League 2 at the very best. Looking at the quality of their signings, I also think Posh might struggle.

I am very sorry to see KL go but wish him every success for his future - you cannot blame him for wanting to play at a higher level and he obviously feels that he needs to move on while he is still young.
Terry Dunfield - not sure one way or the other.
However, the most heartening thing for me is the manager's reaction. These are the words I have been waiting to hear from a Shrewsbury Town manager for years. I wasn't in Shropshire during Mr. Turner's first time here but I have to say that he has my 100% backing. More of this type of talk please for me.

Strong words from GT.. (but good to hear them though ) Exactly what I was going come on here to say. I think more importantly, it underlines to current and future playing staff that a lack of commitment will not be tolerated. I'm sad to see both players to leave, both were good performers for us last season. I certainly don't blame Langers for moving on, although Dunfield might live to regret leaving. I wish them both the very best of luck in the future

Who was saying just about a week ago Langmead loves the club? First sniff of money and he is away i think some people have egg on their face now.
I am not bothered either of them have gone tbh i have faith in GT to get someone better into replace them both.

Will miss Langmead, but offers an opportunity to reshuffle a little I suppose. Shame there's no comment to wish him well etc.
Dunfield is bizarre but great news to have wage freed up to get some quality in there.
GT's comments about people committing themselves to a club are odd considering he's stuffed his recent sides full of loan players.

Very strange point of view.

Who is peterboro's scout?they have now took 2 of the most average players I've seen at this level. Hibbo inconsistent and only played well when confident, any time he had a bad run without scoring he was woeful and so frustrating. As for langmead, has only been a good "servant" cos noone else would have him! Slow and lumberous at best, terrible distributor of ball, failed striker, never understood the hype he got at club.
Only thing hibbo and langmead did well was give 100% but they had too to make up for the fact they were average. Sherrif n sharps at the back is a great building block of a team.
Will watch peterboros team selection with interest, after september both players will have splinters in there ar$e

I disagree, maybe Turner's hand was forced to go down the loan route due to a much smaller budget to work with at Hereford. I am thouroughly looking forward to seeing what he can do with a decent sized budget at this level.

Bizarre move by Dunfield, who doesn't seem to have a club lined up by the sounds of that article, but is happy to burn his bridges with us. Good luck to him though, an honest, hardworking player who did well to become a fixture in the team after his first few months.
Shame to see Langmead move on. Can't say I blame him for taking the opportunity to move up a level whilst he still can. I think he's got a better chance of making the step up than some on here.

Good news. Niether player good enough. Langmead was loyal and sometimes gave a damn, but he was awful. Frees up a bit of the wage bill to get in better players.
Good luck to Dunfield. Wants to go to a European club? Maybe Juventus are after a toilet cleaner?

Listening to the quotes from GT regarding Langmead and Dunfields pending departures only reinforces my belief that we now have the right man at the helm to really take this club forward. Both Langmead and Dunfield had decent seasons last year and best wishes to them both but reality is for all there qualities both have shortcomings that were exposed at league 2 level. How that pans out for them at there new clubs only time will tell but i for 1 am more excited about who we bring in than dissapointed in who we are losing. Dont think fees for either will be substancial but trust GT to bring the right sort of player in regardless.

Would Langers have got in our side next season with SCS and Sharps here?
Dunfield is an honest hardworking league 2 midfielder no more no less,i am sure both can be replaced.

Sad to see Langers go, a pleasant lad who is hard working, a good professional, good luck to him as for comments above ' he went because he would be third choice' i m h o are very wide of the mark as is indicated by him heading for a higher league club.
As for Dunfield I am perplexed by the comments made and as far as I am concerned if we can get money for him great, but a higher league club? I would be surprised.
Either way thanks for the efforts to both players but I feel it gives Turner some elbow room to bring players in he would like in midfield, I think Langers will be harder to replace but I have every confidence in our new supremo!

Always a bit sad when a long serving and hard working player leaves, but I don't think it will be too difficult to find an equivalent, if not better, replacement. Good luck anyway, Kelvin.
Must say I'm suprised that people see SCS as a first choice centre back, in view of the number of unforced errors he makes I don't have that much confidence in him.
The thought of Dunfield playing at a higher level has made me chuckle, so thanks to the Canucks manager, whoever he is.

Kelvin had offers from Crewe and Oldham before last season, both longer deals, both more money. He stayed here because he loves the town and genuinely thought we had a good chance of doing something here. Please don't slander one of the players we've had of recent times who actually gave a damn.

Always disappointing to here about a loyal servant like Langmead leaving but its certainly not the end of the world. Wonder what fee has been agreed?
Dunfield, despite a small purple patch last season, has never justified his price tag and was never even the type of player we needed in midfield.................. so I am hoping for a more exciting replacement.
Good luck to them both

Must say I'm suprised that people see SCS as a first choice centre back, in view of the number of unforced errors he makes I don't have that much confidence in him. No more errors than Kelvin was prone to make. He's much better on the ball than Langmead (or any recent Town centre back that I can think of). For me, that fits in well with my hope that we'll be more of a passing team in future.
