Can you really see Radio Shropshire doing anything? Well they won't if all the people getting their knickers in a knot on here don't do anything. Trust me, they would do diddly squat!

not nice attitude by radio shropshire. also, and i know f all about road works , fire management ect, but i dont get how the hell it takes 6 hours to put out a lorry full of burning straw and clear a traffic jam? is it understandable or are we ****in useless? Burns the tarmac and the area of carriageway has to be relayed. That takes a few hours.

It must have been a Hereford fan driving the the lorry to try and delay the inevitable. Or it was ordered in by STFC to make GT feel more at home. More likely start by the idiot on the radio so his ratings go up.

Truly breath-taking stupidity and arrogance from the presenter and his producer. Yes, the fire is inconvenient to a lot of people but devoting this much time to the story and downplaying the return of a Shrewsbury Town legend is madness.
This is hardly a plane crash with multiple casualties and hearing people droning on about being stuck in a car is just totally boring.

It would take no more than 5 minutes to run the GT story, surely they could take the time out to do that after encouraging people to listen to press conference live on the radio since it was announced two days ago. its not as though the fire story is changing by the minute.

I now have had it confirmed why I can't be bothered to listen to local radio apart from Saturday afternoons if I can't make the match. I have never heard such rubbish as this morning and I'm afraid a group of school children singing on a bus is just the last straw. The only really useful news regards the fire for me was:
The driver is OK Someone running a clinic at the hospital will be late Anything that actually updated officially what was happening
The fact that people need to go to the loo is basically totally uninteresting to me!
Apart from that the news today is good but I do feel that Radio Shrop has let us down badly - even some of the music could have been cut for the GT interview surely?

Allegedly interview on at 12.15 providing no-one signs the children up for a record contract I suppose!

A traffic jam, people drinking tea and wanting a pee, a fire which has been put out and no one got hurt. Shocking news judgement and total overkill.
I hope James Bond has some serious words with the bigwigs at Radio Salop because they screwed up big time.

I hope so as all these other presenters, producers, etc., will soon jump on the bandwagon when the inevitable success for us comes!

Can't be bothered with them - the moment has passed and Radio Shropshire missed it completely. Worse, they insulted a sizeable group of people who were expecting to hear something.
Very poor from Hawkins and his producer - who should have reined him in.

Pathetic from Radio Shropshire.
I left Oswestry at 10.30 this morning.
On arrival in Shrewsbury at 11.00 I had :
* Not had the name of the new Shrewsbury manager, although Jim had told the listeners twice 'You know who it is' * No concept of which direction the traffic problems were occuring in on the A5/M54
Dreadful radio by Hawkins who was out of his depth and the difference between how someone like Eric Smith, who normally deals with the snow issues, is able to cope with 'breaking news'.
