People i know Glyn.See the point is that the bnp would not win in shrewsbury but with the votes they get in estates like the grange and ditherington could make shrewsbury into a N.O.C

Random - in office in Abbey Forgate and someone from the "Impact Party" just been down here rallying people to vote with a mega phone... very disruptive!! That's Home James, the guy who drove me and my mates to Wembley in his minibus! What a legend.

Quiet a few votes being posted for the bnp in ditherington What's this 'Ditherington'? Sounds like a really tiny, wannabee, Moss Side Have cast my vote for Mr Brown so now it's fingers crosed that the 'economic pygmies' are denied control

Oh leave him be... If anyone else had posted this thread it would be prefectly acceptbale... and to be fair the lads been trying pretty hard to fit in around here... I cant think of that much hes done wrong in the last few weeks. Well said Glyn. Anyway, went Lib Dem. Just as it's peoples right to vote, it's their right not to vote. When/if this country changes it's electoral system maybe more people will exercise their right to vote.

Got to think carefully about this one. What about this “job tax”. Seems a bit scary. Hang on though! Wasn’t the minimum wage (preventing bosses from paying slave wages) going to be a tax on jobs? Wasn’t giving workers the right to paid holidays (Heaven forbid) going to cost thousands of jobs? Wasn’t the Working Time Directive (giving people the right not to work all hours that God sends) going to put thousands on the dole? Hmm. Maybe a bit of a dodgy claim? But there again look at those who are supporting the Tory position. Captains of Industry. Surely they must be right? But – just a minute. Let’s take Sir Stuart Rose. Head of Marks & Spencer’s. Surely not the same M&S who played a huge part in destroying the British Textile Industry by moving their sourcing ‘off-shore’. Costing thousand of British jobs!! A little bit hypocritical, I fear. That’s it then. Off to vote for Gordie – so watch out for Clwyd South and see if I’ve made a difference

What about the other 100 odd business leaders that were against the jobs tax? Are you going to mention any of them.
Vote Tory, the only way to go.

Vote Tory, the only way to go. to be fair, did it come as any great suprise to anyone that a load of rich city executives backed the tories? as is quite rightly pointed out above, the tories and the bosses union the cbi have warned about the end of the world every time a bit of social reform or legislation was passed. and it turned out to be nothing more than tory scare mongering. a little bit like if u ban fox hunting it will destroy the countryside and hundreds of thousands of good country folk will starve to death. propaganda. nothin more nothin less. frankly im suprised people havent caught on yet.

People i know Glyn.See the point is that the bnp would not win in shrewsbury but with the votes they get in estates like the grange and ditherington could make shrewsbury into a N.O.C Not quite sure thats the case - Shrewsbury Town council has 11 Conservative Councillors, 3 labour and 2 Lib dem. Conservatives would need to loose a lot of seats to loose control of the Town Council, and their majority is even higher on the Shropshire Council.

If you project the first three results nationally, it means Sunderland will win the general election.

I found it very difficult to decide. I have never before searched for so much information about the policies of the 3 major parties and also information about the candidates.
In the end I voted for the man who seemed to have a truly genuine desire to serve, has an impressive academic record, and is a family man with young children, therefore young enough to understand the concerns of young families in a tough economic climate, but old enough to have some experience.
He didn't stand a chance in this area, but I just had the "feel" that he's genuine- so also e-mailed him to inform him I had voted for him (to the e-mail address given out on the flyer.)
I just think, whatever the outcome, we need to be encouraging towards those who have a genuine desire to serve.
