I have visitors at the moment and have only just had a chance to read your letter to the Chronicle. It is brilliant and says everything I would have like to have said had I written. I am hoping that it will give the non-footballing Shrewsbury public an idea that we are civilised people and not idiots. Back to an earlier thread of ours - bring on the Laura Ashley frocks for a trip to the Music Hall.

Thanks, Sshrew! (Sorry I don't know your real name!)
That was the idea- to show what "typical" STFC fans are like- the ones you and I have met- not the "football hooigans" who, it turns out, weren't even at the match!!!
I thought it was a ggod idea, also, to point out that the fan base is probably growing- and that fans from away need catering for, with a new stadium and facilities. Perhaps I was a bit inaccurate to say I'd introduced "friends"- it was family and a friend, really. One friend- and two grandchildren!
One letter alone may not have much effect- but a few lettters from different people- it may have a "drip! drip!" effect and make someone, somewhere sit up and realise what an asset to the town STFC is!!
(My Laura Ashley dress is in the wardrobe and awaiting a suitable occasion!!!)

Yes, perhaps drip, drip, is a good idea and I'll have a go at putting pen to paper.
If we could go to THE BALL perhaps the Laura Ashley Dress could come out then!!!!!!!!!
