Pains me as it does I'm going to have put Gary Neville in as the best of an average lot at right back, although I wouldn't want him to play for Town !
James G Neville Terry Campbell Bridge Beckham Scholes Gerrard Ashley Cole (crap in defence, lets see what he can do out wide) Owen Alan Smith
Subs: Robinson Southgate Carragher Butt Lampard Rooney Vassell or Defoe
Sorry Emile - no room for you on my bench.

for an awful moment i thought you'd put Carragher down then i re read it and noticed you'd definately put Carragher down. Your ill arn't you, that can be the only explanation for including that one dimensional p**s poor defender. You can just imagine Henry and Pires et al wetting themselves with fear in the French dressing room when they fouind out the English team. Get real mate, he's only just holding his place in the worst Liverpool side in thirty years.

Carragher is a better defender now than G Neville, who needs to stop diving and also give up the players press rep at OT as its gone to his head.

IMO carragher is one of the better full backs we have got. gary neville is a mouthy, diving, gobsh!te. god only knows how phil neville gets picked, have seen more quality in the sunday league.
carragher is the best out of the 3 by far. he is a ball winner, plays it simply each time, is good in the air. playing in the worst liverpool team for 30 years who are 4th in the premiership? and have one of the better defences helps show this

hold on a minute shrewfan. Now i don't know your footballing qualifications but i do know that Phil Neville as been an integral part of the most succesful team this decade, considered by this countrys most successful manager as worthy of his place and....and been capped by seven (count 'em )seven different England managers. Please don't tell me you've seen better in the sunday league because it deminishes your argument.

ok granted sunday league was a big exaggeration but IMO phil neville does not have as much talent as other players in the premier league.

If you look at the England managers that have capped Neville they are all different types, all trying to do different things with their squads and Phil Neville is always there, a very good squad player.Youcan hardly call him a one cap wonder.

I have to say I dont rate Phil Neville and it has nothing to do with my dislike of United, but if Neville played for a club in the same stature of say Leicester, Southampton he wouldnt get a look in with England. He has been a pure excuse international wise at left back for many a time, Euro 2000 saw it at its worst, when players like Alan Wright whilst at Villa didnt get a look in. I have been at Wembley when John Barnes was booed and its funny that on tv you can only hear the booing and not the others telling them to "shut the feck up"

never thought of him as a one cap wonder, to be that then he would of had to have at least one wonderful game ;D. i am not simply jumping on the bandwagon as i have always felt, like JP does, that he only gets picked as he is at a top club. have watched england on several occasions and each time he has looked out of his depth.

Although I've never liked G Neville (or his brother for that matter) I think that he is probably England's best right back at the moment and he has much needed experience that the England team requires.
I'd also give ashley Cole a go on the left of midfield but I think he's too attacking to be a safe left back. I'd prefer Robinson in goal to James but unfortunately I think James has the better experience of these thigns and playing Robinson may be a littkle bit risky
James
G.Neville Terry Campbell Bridge
Beckham Gerrard Lampard Cole
Owen Rooney
