I see that DB and PS have just recieved another 2 front pages over their reported troubles of late. There is the biggest threat ever of a Terrorist Attack and the tabloids are giving coverage of the Beckhams and to be frank we couldn't care whether Beckham was having an affair with the whole of Spain- we just couldn't give a monkeys. He was all over the press in 1998 for kicking Simone, again in 2002 when he did in his foot, 2003 when he signed for Real and again in 2004, I know lots of people who are BWTB. Is there anyone that agrees with me?

TOAO, Whilst i agree with the overall sentiment of your very mature post i think you should have spent some time distinguishing between the Beckhams self publicity and this latest media overkill that frankly is nothing to do with the "golden couple". It's a media invented story designed specifically to sell papers.

The tabloids sell to the masses and will run the stories weather they're important or not.
On the subject of David Beckham - the guy is one of my heros, he lievs the dream. Professional footballer playing with the world's greats at Real Madrid, capain of England and married with two kids. What a life.

Solution - read a decent paper. The Independent does not report on the Beckhams (or soap 'stars' or the Royal family)

Isn't it called the Indapendent as it is left on the shelf on it's own while the rest of the papers around it are sold FT is a good paper, gives a good account of the general important news as well all the business/market and financial info

Have to agree. The answer is not to read the scummy tabloids. The problem is that some people actually do believe what they read, incredible but true. Simply a case of spoonfeeding absolute rubbish to the poorly read masses who suck it up like brainless morons IMHO.
