You guys probably wont like what i say but as a fan of the conference for a long time its fair to say your 1st season is your easiest. You will find it very difficult next year with less money to spend ( no parachute payments ). Chester or Heroford should win the title and ist a lottery for second but id fancy Chester and Heroford to both go up.
Its funny but when you come down you feel like a leauge club in the conference, next year youl feel like a conference side in the conference.
Hope it all goes well for you, good luck.

Be reasonable afro, he obviously likes (and is well used to the conference) I like the conference, no worries about taking the lad to matches wearing colours, reasonable prices (excluding Stevenage), hardly a queue at the toilets or the snack bar. The one downside is the lack of decent football on offer But i'm sure we won't be here next season (fingers X)

I think thats your said from the heart and not the head, there are only two teams this year and there 1st and second. Heroford awsum up front on there day, Chester great defence and a chairmand willing to invest heavilly. There allso 1st and second . Dont forget the might northwitch vics

No one here has said we will 'walk the league' - again I believe this to be a myth created by some Conference supporters.
In my view a playoff place would be an adequate return on this season; we need some improvement if we are going to make that yet though.

it's doing my head in the way that Shrews are 'struggling' but we are still in there, and - 2 pie and chips, one with gravytoday - 4 quid and similar thing at Leigh, and by buxom ladies with a laugh - cheaper than the chippy, i remember shrewspies being reasonable prices until Roland over the catering and doubled the prices!
Really can't wait to get back in the league, but might have to wait a bit after today.

Hope im wrong Thanks for the history lesson Ed Agree Hereford and Chester look good at the moment but wouldnt have said that about Hereford a week ago Indeed like on here today there were people on Herefords board calling for Turner to go and anyway History tells us (until a week ago England never win a world cup at Rugby History tells us Hereford never finish above sixth Chester always bottle the play offs (and until May) Shrewsbury would never be in the conference so the guy was right History is bunk Yesterday was bad I am more positive today There is all to play for !

I'd like to know what you're basing your opinions of Hereford and Chester upon Mac?

Always the optimist, but take a look at the December fixtures and the current split on home and away games played ( In particular Aldershot ) I'm looking at top 4 and within 5 points of the top team by the turn of the year.
I think that consistency is always hard to attain when the style and quality of the opposition varies by so much week on week.
The truth is I've seem the good times and I've seen the bad times over the past 30 years watching the town and to me this feels like the start of something better.

we're in a bad run at the mo. Havent been playing consistantly well all year.
Very inconsistant opinions there mac. We thrash hereford, yet you dismiss it because they were in a bad run. we draw at Tamworth, nearly get something away at exeter and draw at Leigh (who beat hereford at home!!!!!!!!) when quite frankly juding from what i saw (at exeter and Tamworth) and read about Leigh we didnt deserve jack. yesterday we were wihout Tolley, Aiston and Luke. Who would better any team.
The Conference is a s**te league, maybe arrogant, but by and large STFC have been poor yet we are still in the hunt!
